  • It's because the conservative ones tend to be the most vocal. I've generally seen more right-wing condemnation of the left wing then vice-versa.
  • None of your business, commie! Just kidding. If you mean politically, I'd have guessed there are more liberals here; it's just the extremists on both sides that stick in one's mind. Just stick around awhile, be helpful and use humor, and you'll find some people you grok.
  • I consider myself to be very friendly. I answer each personal email sent to me by the people on Answerbag.
  • That's not true. Many people here are to exchange information only, and to not be social. I am pretty liberal, and sometimes don't do much talking to other ABers.
  • The vast majority of AB members live in the United States. Part of the United States population is currently undergoing a bout of mass hysteria ("Obama is a Marxist Nazi Communist Muslim Kenyan Indonesian...") It is difficult for such people to be friendly when they are so caught up in the grip of their hysterical fear. Sadly, some of those people choose to express their paranoia here on AB. If you'd like to know more, read Barry Glassner's excellent book "The Culture of Fear" http://www.bowlingforcolumbine.com/library/fear/index.php
  • i have found everyone really outgoing and friendly. +5
  • If you are referring to "conservative" in terms of politics or religion, I think you'll find that most ABer's, regardless of their leanings, avoid such discussions, especially when the questions are "loaded" and meant to provoke. Those who actually engage such discussion, be they liberal or conservative, seem to be a tad nastier than I personally prefer. Personally, I'm a political/economic conservative. Socially, I'm relatively liberal, although not "far out". That being said, I consider myself very friendly, regardless of ones leanings. And I want to keep it that way. :-) +5...notwithstanding the obvious stereotyping. :-)
  • Thats why i had a break from here for quite a while, it should be fun, friendly and informative but some people do take this site to an unhealthy level of seriousness, so you just sort the wheat from the chaff :)
  • i would disagree ... i've found it to be more liberal although still not very friendly to others of unlike thinking ...
  • The daytime audience is probably naturally a conservative lot of over-privileged, under-thinking, priggish, stay-at-home moms. These people are prone to authoritarian thinking because they live in a bubble. That, and stupid people just tend to be the most passionate and least informed.
  • Hmm....I thought most ABers were pretty friendly. Infact its only a "few" that attack other people *coughs* *clears throat*.....
  • i have alway found them to quite friendly even funny at times,
  • 2nd Answer. Lets face it, must of the people on Answerbag are total strangers. We do not know each other. we can only rely on their answers to questions and then form an opinion about this person. Most people are on the defensive here.
  • Because they trolled here from yahoo and are now trolling on answerbag.
  • I could be accused of not being friendly because I am "direct". Younger people get upset when the questions are about relationships in which they are being used and I tell them so without the sugar. "Wake up! The guy is using you! Move on and forget him!" I figured being direct was more harmless then them staying in a bad relationship. But in this politically correct world, many people can't take "direct and to the point" information. They would like to think they are the exception.
  • I wouldn't say most. Look at the questions. If they were more conservative, they wouldn't ask such questions. There are questions about pets, relationships, religion, etc. and people genuinely trying to talk to each other. That means they have to be friendly. What does friendly mean to you? Chummy? Sweet? Most people are nice in their replies, so I call that friendly.
  • 1-We are Europeans- Angles, Saxons, Franks, Slavs etc. 2-We are Judeo-Chrisrians 3-We are the grand-grand sons of Ancient Greeks, Romans 4-We are the founders of modern times including modern civilization-its arts and science predominantly- 5-Ä°ndtead of two World Wars we are invicible tom boys 6-We know to pray 7-We still can construct the base of healthy society-the conservative family!
  • You've been hanging out with the wrong people my dear;) http://www.taylorbirkey.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/chimp-grin.jpg
  • A lot are gay conflicting both accounts.
  • Conservative and Not friendly...hmmmm...? Conservative–adjective 1. disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc., or to restore traditional ones, and to limit change. 2. cautiously moderate or purposefully low: a conservative estimate. 3. traditional in style or manner; avoiding novelty or showiness: conservative suit. Unfriendly–adjective 1. not amicable; not friendly or kindly in disposition; unsympathetic; aloof: an unfriendly coldness of manner. 2. hostile; antagonistic: an unfriendly act of aggression. 3. unfavorable; inhospitable or inimical, as an environment: an unfriendly climate for new ideas. This is not applicable. Are you just...maybe stereotyping here or have I missed something?
