Even people who live with, are married to, or have other people around them are still basically "alone." We come into life alone, and we leave alone. Being able to be alone and content and self sufficient, and also being able to have a social system throughout life is an ideal scenario. Hard to achieve, but realistically best when one gets older or is truly alone later in life. Nothing worse than being with someone married or otherwise, just to have company. It is self effacing and hurts one's self esteem. Being able to be alone and feel happy also is a sign of self love and acceptance with one's self.

is there anything worse than that? i personally think the best thing is to be truely loved by another.

It may feel as though you're totally alone, but in reality, "no man (or woman) is an island."

There is a difference between being alone and being lonely.One can be without companionship most of the time,if they feel fulfilled within themselves.Then the quality ,not the quantity,of time in the company of other people is more appreciated and welcome.I also think that no one is totally alone unless they think they are.

So I would guess by saying is there anything better...taht you enjoy alone time. I love alone time but to be totally alone for good....That would be horrible. I am a social bug and have to see other people.

I have always felt that no friends is better than bad friends. If the people around you are dragging you down better to be rid of them in order to make room in your life for more positive influences. Even if they are your own family.

Totally alone sounds awful alone. If you like it that way, I guess not.

I used to think no. I've spent the vast majority of my life alone, and I never really saw what was so bad about it. It's rather odd, how when you're so used to being alone, you never even notice that there's no one there. But once you've had someone there for you, once you've known the alternative and had some basis for comparison, being alone in life can be very hard. Not so long ago, I would have thought that being alone wasn't really very bad. But my answer now is a definite yes. I just don't have the tolerance for solitude that I used to...

I can be in a room with 1700 people and still feel totally alone. I have accepted this and am okay with it.

Well ! Being Alone no doubt lets you learn various aspacts of life, experience a number of characters and most imporatntly grill ourselves from within. But Yes, Its "LoVe" which really really matters. Not loving someone I here refer to, but being loved truly by someone is what that matters a lot. Not getting, but creating a place in someone's heart takes a great deal, But Life becomes worth living if True Love is what someone finds out... Wish you a good time ahead...
