  • Really, sitting that long is not good for you. Sometimes I sit at my desk too long too but try to get up every 30 minutes and do something else for a few minutes.
  • Not really. Back when I was a programmer, we were supposed to work "heads down", and were on the computers for eight hours at a time (excepting bathroom and lunch breaks). Then we'd go home and either surf the 'net, play some games, or whatever else on the computer. Now, if you have a pee-bottle beside you, take the laptop to the bathroom with you for those longer visits, and don't stop to eat/drink anything at all, then, yes... It's a bad thing. :-P
  • Yes. You need to get a real life talking to people right there with you and going out and doing things with them. AB is no substitute for life. Waste a few hours here a few times a week, but don't let it suck you in. There really are lots of better things to do. I like the quote I've heard attributed to Benjamin Franklin, "Everything in moderation" ie not to much, not too little, just right.

  • It's not really that bad, but it's not good either, of course. It can cause eye strain depending on what you were doing, and on your monitor type (CRT being the worst). And maybe a bit of fatigue. But if you're feeling fine, there's nothing to worry about I guess...
  • hon i work all day on a computer then unwind on ab --> sometimes that is just how it works out, i hate tv. +5
