the russians made a pistol designed to fire underwater. otherwise, most guns will NOT work underwater. the biggest problem is that in a gun, the bullet is in a big hurry to get out of the barrel. But with a barrel full of water it can't get out fast enough so the pressure spikes and the gun explodes.

gun work very well for underground and under cover. i dont know under water though.

Most guns do not work underwater theres only a few that are designed to one of them is the AK47 i believe you could throw it in the sand or water and leave it 5 years come back and it will be fine

Yes the biggest problem you will have is precision and the aftermath of rust settling in. The Soviet APS rifle was made specifically for that use.
