Has anyone else noticed that if you have a negative comment about Obama you seem to get a lot of negative feedback/points? Why is that?

Well to be honest, overall AB may be a pro Obama community. There's so much social disrest in this political arena and more people need to learn how to discuss issues like adults instead of attacking other people's opinioins. That's what I think.

It's a hate Crime... Apparently if you don't like Obama, then you are racist... I don't think he is doing a too good of a job on our presidency and that he doesn't know what he is messing with, and what the consequences of his choices are... Other than that I am not racist at all and have plenty of black friends... Oh and if you don't like me calling it black, then screw you, you guys need to make up your mind already, you change it like everyday haha, anyways, my friends say they are black so yeah...

Well, wouldn't you agree it's a little early in his term to be judging Obama's long-term actions? People who do so may have entered the discussion biased against Obama. Perhaps those ratings reflect this. However, the bigger question is, if you're talking about opinion questions, why ANY answers would get downrates at all. Opinions given on opinion questions cannot be "unhelpful" by definition - and that's the ONLY thing downrates are for, "unhelpful" answers. People who DR because they don't agree with an answer are abusing the DR button. Don't you think calling Obama a liar is rather extreme, though? You get that too about Palin or anything from the right. I have gotten DR from the left and the right. (Honestly more from the right then the left.) It is just from the people who cannot use their words for argument. They DR in frustration. I have gotten over it now. I think it really stinks though when they are so angry that they then follow you and DR a question like "what is your favorite color." because they are still so frustrated. That is not helpful to anyone on this site. And bottom line, that is what we are here for. To be helpful by answering questions. Isn't it??? +5

Well it depends on the question / observation made about Obama when it comes to reward points. Make a negative but true observation in a polite civilized fashion and the points will come in and many people will be interested...now If you just call the president a jackass and say some nonsense like "he isn't even American" people here will down rate you faster than greased lighting because we know that's just propaganda and ignorance speaking and not a real question from someone looking for healthy dialog with others.

I've noticed that it helps to try and be fair in one's commentary about, well anyone. Lacing with such adjectives as: Evil, Socialist, Anti-christ, etc, tends to be rather annoying to those who really are.

I get more DR than negative comments seems that people don't want to or can't debate an issue so they use the DR to try and make a point. I have no problem with President Obama I'm proud that my country can elect a black president but I hate his politics he is so far left its scary.

The same can be said if you make positive comments about Obama. Or positive comments about Bush..or McCain..or Palin. Or negative comments about the same folks. No matter what side of the political fence you stand...or if you sit on the fence itself, someone will disagree with you, and some of them can be very nasty about it. Or, they simply DR without comment.

I have the feeling it's like Amazon.com. If you write a review people will still mark the review as "not helpful". Not because of lack of substance, but simply because they disagree with you. Rather immature, isn't it?

Because what you call negative, other people call lies, hate, and stupidity. Seeing as how you've called him a liar, a racist, and unfit to lead this nation. Maybe that's why you(in my opinion) rightly earned you DRs.
