  • Since Jesus died over 2000 years ago horific things have happened to millions of people.you can definatly say Man has been Evil to Man,But I cannot see evidence of any forgivness from any God.If Jesus died for our sins then we have killed him many many more times since.
  • Well that makes a pretty boring story, now doesn't it? lol.
  • That wouldn't have been nearly as entertaining for him.
  • Great question Strength. This is one of the reasons I gave up my faith. It seems that "God" wanted to guilt trip people into accepting "his plan". So many questions have come up like, if God created all angels to perfectly worship him, then why did he even create them with the possibility of rejecting him? If God knows all things, then why did he even bother to create a third of his angels who he knew ahead of time would disobey and cause havoc on all of his creation which he claims to love? Did God want bad things to happen to all of his creation? Why are we not all born into heaven "sinless" instead of inheriting "sin", having to suffer and then most of us spend eternity in a place of darkness? Wouldn't it be righteous to punish the first sinners (Adam and Eve) or forgive them and give them a clean slate right off the bat, protecting their children or preventing them from having children, instead of allowing all of humanity for thousands of years to suffer their sinful inheritance? Is Satan more powerful than God? Then why does he allow so many bad things to happen to everyone? To test our faith? Why not just give us faith and skip the tests? Since "God" has the power to do all things, I hold him 100% responsible for every wrong thing that has ever happened. His creation, his mess, his lack of love and faulty plan. I see no love in God. "God" just doesn't seem all that perfect when you think about it. I would rather worship Satan.
  • God did not make a pact with Jesus. Picture it. Hey Jesus, I will forgive everyone who ever lives if you just do me a little favor and let a bunch of murderers nail you up on a cross. Jesus gave a great gift by showing us the way. As a self-realized Master he showed us that dying to the material lifts the veil to the eternity of the spirutal. We cannot die. None of us can ever die. Like Jesus who conquered the desires and pain of the material world, we all are invited to explore the pathway of the Divine. This does not mean that we also have to crucify ourselves, it means that we need not worry about losing our grasp of desiring the material, body or a single human life experience.
  • Its all make-believe, an afterthought. Here is what might have happened... The Birth of the ‘Christianity’ brand after pious Jesus was crucified. …And the 11 so-called ‘disciples’ of Jesus (Judas was the fall-guy, scapegoat) sat round a table and contemplated: “Oh sugar! How do we clean up this mess and redeem ourselves? People have seen us with Jesus, seen us denying and betraying him as well, they will stone us to death – as per the tradition of that time!” Peter said (and Paul-John seconded) to the group: ‘Lets hide/destroy Jesus’s body and start a new business, creed in the name of Jesus –the dead Jew. John sprinkled some water on Jesus as a ritual (Baptised) which everyone saw. Lets sprinkle –‘holy water’-- on our consumer-group as loyalty-scheme!’ ‘But who would believe us? We have no service to offer, no product to sell! We will tell everybody we say him rise & go to skies/heaven. There would be no body for evidence! Then we will offer those who vouch to follow us: God’s promise of ‘life after death’! Everybody is afraid of death & nobody will return to ‘call our bluff’! How would we entice & recruit consumers before making them loyal?!’ ‘That’s easy! Just make them ‘consumers-by-birthright’ by (1) labelling all natural life-processes from womb-to-tomb, especially sex & conception as the ‘original sin’, so everybody automatically becomes a sinner-by-birth and has to seek redemption and (2) keeping customers ignorant of truth by labelling ‘ignorance is bliss’ & ‘seeking of knowledge’ as a sinful temptation, a bigger sin, a taboo, such that eating the fruit of [carnal] knowledge of good & evil drove Adam & Eve out of paradise [of living in ignorance like heathen animals]…! ‘Then all of us and our club of generations of clergy would be eternally ‘set up’ for a cozy life, free solid-stone, high-ceiling housing, free food, we shall never need to work again, just gob the gospel! --- plus those sick child-molesters among us would have young boys to bugger as a ‘bonus bounty’ from our Lord, Jesus’s father-God, Amen!’ Thus was born the first business with brand-name ‘Christianity’ – the fore-runner of Coca Cola, Microsoft, Virgin and F C U K, with a board of 11 directors and it remained by far the most profitable ‘service’ industry by late 20th century AD, establishing monopoly by deceit and subterfuge, circular-illogical-irrational arguments of ‘divine authority’, selling an abstract, intangible faith-‘product’: “promise of immortality in afterlife”, a product with long, almost ‘eternal’ shelf-life, --but absolutely no value, no credibility, “no money-back, no guarantee”, no effect & no utility-in-futility.
  • Isn't the fact that he DID die, more important than the WHY he died? Of course, being all powerful, God could've had it anyway he wanted it, but doesn't the depth of his love seem much more INTENSE--seeing that he ALLOWED his son to die for ALL of us? Even for those who doubt his very existance!!! Could YOU allow YOUR only child to die for such wicked, disobedient, and unbelieving "children?"
  • Jesus (peace be upon him) was just a great messenger/prophet of God. He was not son of God but a noble human being. He never claimed to come to die for the mankind sins and in fact he did NOT die on the cross as Christians like to believe. It is written in the Bible that God saved Jesus from death: "In the days of His flesh, He (Jesus) offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His piety" [Hebrews 5:7] If Jesus's intention was to be a sacrifice (as Christians like us to believe), then why would he "Beg" and "Pray" to God to be saved!? It does not make any sense. And indeed God almighty heard Jesus's supplications and crying and saved his messenger, Jesus (peace be upon him) from death. This is in agreement with what Allah (God) Almighty says in the Quran: "And because of their saying (in boast), "We killed Messiah 'Isa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), the Messenger of Allah," - but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but the resemblance of 'Isa (Jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man), and those who differ therein are full of doubts. They have no (certain) knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture. For surely; they killed him not (i.e. 'Isa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary) (peace be upon them)). But Allah raised him ('Isa (Jesus)) up (with his body and soul) unto Himself (and he (peace be upon him) is in the heavens). And Allah is Ever All-Powerful, All-Wise." [The Noble Quran 4: 157-158]
  • yes that is exactly what we (Muslims) belive in God forgived Adam and the sin was removed .. no body dead..no body has to be killed :)
  • God requires sacrifice if we sin. Adam and Eve sinned by eating of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Many do not realize this but when God took skins and made coverings for Adam and Eve He made a blood sacrific of His imperfect animals to obtain the skins. God clothed Adam and Eve not because they were naked but because they were being forced out of the Garden. Should Adam asked for forgiveness we may all be living naked in the Garden today; but he didn't instead he blamed Eve who blamed the serpent and on and on it goes. God gave the Hebrews methods of blood sacrifice for atonement of their sins by sacrificing different animals but these sacrifices were only substitutes and not permanent. Jesus, the Christ, the only begotten Son of God had to become the perfect blood sacrifice to atone for our sin, once for all. He had to die and rise from death unto life in order to give those whom believe in Him can have everlasting life. Jesus had to die to have victory over death for us. God could have forgiven us but He would have had to break His covenants he made with Adam in the beginning and God cannot do that. There is much much more to the reasons God ever sent Jesus His Son to this earth than just the standard beliefs of "to save us from our sin."
  • Jesus was God in human form. This was a tangible occurrence witnessed by us (humans). Therefore, God made the sacrifice so that our sins may be forgiven.
  • Excellent question, and I think Jesus himself would agree with you. My source? Well, first of all, neither Jesus nor his apostles were thinking that the Crucifixion was "Good News for mankind." That idea came from Paul, who terrorized the first followers of Christ, and was not one of the twelve apostles. This will highlight the source of the confusion: http://gospelenigma.com That resource spells out the huge difference between the kingdom gospel Jesus preached (which was not about blood for sin) and the popular gospel we hear these days. Good solid question. Thanks for asking it.
  • Have you ever tried "JUST forgiving someone"? And I don't mean forgiving someone who stepped on your toe or took your parking place. I'm talking about forgiving the co-worker who sabotaged your career, the trusted friend who backstabbed you, the kidnapper who killed your child, the wife who cuckholded and humiliated you, the husband who abused you, the fiend who raped you. Simply "letting it go" isn't forgiveness. Real forgiveness require super-human and sacrificial love. It also requires an act that moves those to be forgiven to repentance by breaking their heart ... and their pride.
  • The contradiction between Mercy and Justice is the REASON that Jesus had to die on the Cross. Even God couldn't figure an easy way out of that one.
  • The way I see it, Jesus died just for the Jews. He was to be The King of the Jews. He is now, BTW. The Jews didnt believe en mass, so Our Father expanded the forgiveness to every person who believes, Jew or Gentile. He died for the sins of the Jews. You are sinless. And you can be a Kid of the Kingdom by just believing in who Our Father is and why Jesus died. For the sins of the Jews.
  • 7-24-2017 Your "if" is wonky: God is not "all powerful". The bible mentions several things God can't do. For instance, He can't lie and He can't change. Adam committed treason when he disobeyed God's command. The penalty for treason is death, but God did not kill him. He sent a savior to redeem mankind. Jesus did not die for our sins. He died so we could have life, and have it more abundantly. Sin, singular, is the absence of spirit. Sins, plural, are mistakes such as throwing a dart and missing the mark. When Jesus died he became a spirit of everlasting life. Read a chapter of Proverbs every day. Proverbs has 31 chapters so you can keep your place by just looking at a calendar. There is no religion or nothing in Proverbs and you don't have to believe anything. Just read every day. When you are comfortable with that, then read the bible from Romans to 2 Thessalonians over and over until you start to remember what it says. That is the part that applies to Christians. You will notice that most of the religious crap you hear from random preachers isn't in there at all. It is made up.
  • Simple, if God forgives us all without sending His Son, then there is no "redemptive fine" to pay. Romans 3:23-24 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by His grace through the [redemption] that is in Christ Jesus:"
  • To explain without use of scriptures. Jesus came as God in the flesh to take our place that we deserved. We all are the ones who deserve what Jesus did for us.
  • Jesus died for more than just our sin. He also abolished the Old Testament Law of which no one can live up to replacing it with the Law of Love. Whom ever has Jesus Christ as their Saviour is under the Law of Love. Romans 10:4.
  • Jesus actually never died to begin with. Nowhere in the bible does it say he did. When Paul the apostle founded Christianity he invented "Jesus" to guilt trip the Roman empire.
