  • Its' great with BBQ sause from PETA People eating tasty animals.
  • no http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/1554300
  • nope, gotta do what you gotta do to live long and healthy. Crocodiles drown their victims before doing anything. all animals do some type of cruelty to eat. Yes, the conditions could be better, but greed is a strong force.
  • i think its wrong to buy the animal coz your paying people to murder theese animals, children are ok coz they have to if their parents do but if your at least 16 then you should be eating vegetables to help you grow and keep healthy and strong. some of the strongest and most beautiful people in the world are vegetarians and some lived to 110
  • No. If meat was not meant to be eaten...it wouldnt have nutrient value. Plus my God say's it is alright to eat meat. =)
  • well i think no,but it depends actually you might be right about meat and is cruel that we eat it just for that i would like to add that this is actually a very good question. to some degress it does matter that eating meat is cruel but god allowed us eat meat in an episode of the bible, but i'am not to familar with it but you might be right about it like i said before or what i said above, but no don't worry too much about it becuase you might be hurting yourself might end up going crazy "}but you're absolutely right that it "might" a little cruel. i give you props for that "} I hope this helps or at least have or has answered your question "}
  • No, not if the animals are bred especially to be killed.
  • I think it's more cruel to expect human beings to give up meat just because their economic system is flawed by greed.
  • No i do not, i think eating meat is natural. If i need to eat and somthing is lower than me on the food chain. you'd better believe i'm gona fire up the grill! i'm too addicted to barbicue to ever swear off meat :P mmm that made me hungry!! P. People E. Eating T. Tasty A. Animals
  • An animal of any sort goes through the same fear that humans do,and realize that they are about to be killed. The way the animals are treated in commercial farms is terrible. It is against the law to even take pictures of what is going on in these places to the animals.Overcrowding, heat exhaustion, wallowing in feces, and other things that would be illegal for humans. At least in the days of independent family farming the animals lived a decent existence before slaughtering.
  • I think the way a lot of animals are treated before they're slaughtered is extremely cruel. An animal is an animal. You wouldn't want your pets living in those types of conditions. I never understand why people get so upset about the eating of dogs, or whatever. When they don't care about pigs. Or cows. Or chickens. I just feel like everyone should take an interest in what they eat, and how it's produced. I don't find the actual eating of meat cruel, but if you don't bother to find out what kind of life the animal that you're eating has had, it's just uninformed. I've got no problem with organic farming, and even just bloody average conditions.
  • There are some situations with large stockyards where the animal may suffer unnecassary pain. I do think that is wrong and should be stopped. I am very much for eating meat though. I love my steaks and bacon. There will always be a certain degree of pain to the animal during slaughter but most of the time it is butchered very quickly and doesnt suffer. I dont think eating meat is cruel, not at all. The meat cannot feel anything.
  • I don't think eating meat is cruel. There are some places who seem to go out of their way to make life hell for livestock though. For those poor creatures, death really is a sweet release.
  • Not just no. Hell no! http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/5723785
  • no. it's yummy.
  • I honestly don't believe that eating meat is really that terrible considering that I was raised in a very poor part of Venezuela. If you don't want to take my word for it, you should look at the small islands off of the gulf that formed after one of the major floods 6 years ago. During the flood all of the major predatory animals either left or drowned and almost nothing but herbivores were left on these islands. Scientist gathered together a rescue team to relocate the animals and found an island with nothing but Howler Monkeys, but these were monkeys acted very strangely. Howler Monkeys are very social and they live as a community, but these howler monkeys were anti-social and didn't communicate at all... howler monkeys that don't howl <.< because there were no predators on the island, the population of howler monkeys increased drastically, but their food source didn't. So they became incredibly competitive and even hostile towards each other. Scientists even found a considerable amount of howlers stoned to death but theirs still speculation on whether it was over food or dominance.
  • No I don't, I know my opinion may not be highly regarded as the correct answer, but I think that people in this country should focus more on how they treat people rather than animals. When I first came to this country, I had no money, no place to live and no job. I remember the first time I got payed for for hauling cement blocks for some man's pool in the hot summer sun. I was so happy. I went to the local in-n-out that had a nice outdoor eating area. I noticed that there were some young angry people with picket signs lined up on the side walk. but that didn't matter, what mattered was that after a week of poverty and starvation I would have my first meal. But as soon as I sat down to eat -this young angry person came up to me and threw my burger into the garbage can saying "MEAT IS MURDER!!!" I wanted to cry...
  • There is nothing cruel about cooking and eating a piece of meat.
  • No because if we didnt eat meat, the world would be over populated with animals and what not.
  • It is obviously cruel. No animal enjoys living a horrible life, and wants to die a painful death! The pain and suffering that happen every day is such a sad statement of human de-evolution. Many animals die just to become food for selfish creatures!
  • If I slice a pound of meat from your body and chop it up to stir fry with vegetables, whilst in the process sent you to to the hospital emergency ward, do you think it is not cruel? If you still think it is not cruel to stir fry a pound of fresh of any indivual life form, then continue to eat meat. Either you are in a comma being and fed by some mechanical means or you are an idiot (or a psychopath) to eat such thing called meat!
  • Yes, when a girl break her finger nail, or when a guy get bashed by gangsters, that is pain to them. But when they all chew a quarter pounder of flesh from another life form, they do not think of that same pain multiplied by a million fold !!!!!!!!! Those that still think eating meat is right should be eaten so that they know what the experience is like! I will not use words to argue with them. If they want to argue, let them be slaughtered to prove their argument!!!!
  • Not specifically ... however i do think inhumane treatment of animals sent to slaughter is cruel.
  • I think eating meat is creul, but honestly, the animal is already dead and doesn't know he/she is being devoured. What is cruel is the manner in which the animals are poorly kept for and inhumanely slaughtered. By the time they are processed into meat, their lifetime of cruelty is over.
  • Yes, Because a living thing is being murdered for someone else to eat them . Who said that animal wanted to die? I would not want someone to kill me so someone else could cook me & eat me....
  • I don't eat meat, but this would be a good question to pose to those dog-lovers who eat meat but were screaming for Michael Vick's head........and still are. Well no....."that's different"! Of course it is! There are other parts of the world where they eat dogs. They eat the bark out of them!
  • eating meat is cruel in many dimensions. the unnecessary suffering of life (made by God). hurting and killing animals when there is no definitive need for your survival is engaging in a more violent lifestyle than you need to. also, eating meat itself is more difficult to digest and often carries toxins your body must purge (generally found in the fatty parts of meat). its really a gift from God that we are able to eat and digest mean when life becomes more difficult and perhaps crop failure has led to an immediate need for survival. theres an excellent book regarding the nutritive value of foods (the china study) and how meat does not factor into this equation. i advocate eating a healthy and meat-free diet when possible. having lived in a third-world country, i realize opportunitites to eat vegetarian are not always available, but should without a doubt be preferred for our health, inside and outside the body.
  • Eating meat in itself isn't cruel as the animal is already dead, but sometimes their lives leading up to their deaths is cruel so it would be better if some of them had a better existence leading up to that moment. At the end of the day though I have to eat, so I still eat meat.
  • No. We are animals and our bodies can process meat. It is good for us, despite what the hippy agenda says, and it is a dog eat dog world out there.
  • Yes! Not only is it cruel to animals it is cruel to people. Think about all the labor that would be freed up if we were not burdened with satisfying the demand for meat (refrigeration, antibiotics, additional land, extra labor for butchering, feeding, crop growing, cleaning ...) and the additional health costs which the industry saddles society with. If we could keep the burden of providing food and health care lighter we would all benefit. A video is worth 1,000 words.
  • we are made of protein and it is not cruel to eat meat.
  • Absolutely not! God gave man dominion over the animals. Certain animals were created to provide food for all mankind.
  • Yes, but so is life. I understand vegetarianism (I was one for 10 years) as long as it's for humanitarian reasons. It's a personal choice.
  • It's interesting that those who have said it is not cruel go on to explian how it is merely morally acceptable (for them), but ignore the word 'cruel' in the question! The question was not 'is meat nice' or 'do you think it is justifiable for us to eat meat', or 'since less intelligent animals eat meat is it OK for us to' etc., it was whether to eat meat is cruel or not. Would have been interesting to hear the pro-carnivores address that.
  • No, I do not think eating meat is cruel.
  • meat comes from animals of coruse it's cruel how would you feel if someone hunted you and ate your meat? that wouldn't be right would it? =.= even though I eat meat I feel sorry for those poor animals! :<
  • Absolutely not. That is why God put animals on this earth, it's the circle of life.
  • I think its delicious!!!
  • When my mother was alive(she died at 90)-she use to tell this story about slaughtering chickens. She said my Uncle Will would put the chicken head on a chopping block and off came the head. The rest is to bloody to write down. But after cleaning it they would make a supper. I am not a hunter but I suppose people who are--most likely do the same things? I read in a magazine once that some slaughtering houses give the steer an electric shock prior to the rest of the act. To me as long as people buy meat; does this mean that they partially approve of how slaughtering is done? Its a choice to me but I only eat turkey or fish.
  • keeping the animals suffering to a minium. no i dont think its cruel. we need meat, its what made us what we are. and its the only way we will progress as it helps out brain grow.
  • No. Eating meat is also need of our body and it is Necessary that we eat meat in week.
  • No. Our bodies need meat.
  • yes it is definetly cruel...i saw someone said tht animals have nutritional value...so there meant to be ate..humans hav nutritional value..are we meant to be ate to?..
  • No our bodies need protein. There is nothing wrong with eating meat. For those who disagree, plants contribute a lot to our eco system is well. Is there anything wrong with eating some type of plant? Get my point?
  • Hell no. I love meat. I'll eat anything someone tells me is meat. I don't even care what animal it comes from really, I'll eat it.
  • Only when..IT'S STILL ALIVE!
  • (I'm a vegetarian) and my answer is No, I think the factory farming industry is cruel.
  • I eat meat.
  • 9-12-2017 It's religious. The bible says "Rise, kill and eat!"
  • Though I am a NON vegetarian, I think eating meat of ANY animal is a cruel act.... We r humans and we CAN live WITHOUT meat, and eating it is not a NEED for us. It is for animals like lions and tigers, they can survive only on meat and it is NOT a choice for them. But for us humans, it is a choice, so why not stop killing those cute hens, goats etc ? I am a child and in my home I cannot make the decision (whether I should eat meat or not) but I have promised myself that when I will grow up, I will give up (on meat)
  • Whatever you say .... Everyone knows :---- It's too CRUEL !
