My first computer back in 1998, which was crap, cost £1200 GBP, my last PC I built myself for £500 GBP. My first laptop, about 4 years ago was £900 GBP, and the one I bought last summer, which is miles better, was £410 GBP. It's amazing how even though technology is getting better and better, the prices seem to be dropping, hardware wise anyway.
