  • It would probably be easier naming what we didn't have, but here we go. We had dogs, a cat, guinea pigs, hamsters, a chinchilla, ferrets, rabbits, ducks, a pop bellied pig, a rat, snakes, lizards, fish, newts, tarantulas, iguana, and the list goes on. • My father loved animals, and was always bringing me home pets. My mother hates all living things... and all of them "ran away". By the time I was eight I had gotten and "lost" three gerbils, two kissing fish, three cats: "Sandy", "Patches", and "Lucifer", a ferret named Coto, and a blue parakeet named Perry. In my preteen and teenage years all of our pets were at the will of my little sister, whom my STEPfather doted on. Her animals all magically died too. That was Four or five cats (the only name I remember was Fidget), a lovebird named Nikki, two cockatiels named Sunshine and Petrie, a parakeet named Melanie, about a thousand zebra finches (who apparently belonged to a cult fond of midnight mass suicides - poor Mary had to wake up to at least three mornings of 10 or more dead birds at a time), and several goldfish. My grownup animals are healthy, happy, see the vet twice a year at least, and are going to live to a ripe old age. One pit/rottie mix named Bub, one pit bull named Winston, and one Dachshund named Sam. ^_^

  • I've had cats, dogs, a pig, and a fish .
  • We had a dog named Pluto. Two gerbals. An outdoor cat named Cuddles at one point that got hit in the face with a car. I had a leopard gecko that I had to put to sleep. A dog named Roscoe and a dog named Coco. A really fat frog that died after 2 years. A turtle that I named Splinter that refused to die and is probably still alive. We found him in our front yard and my Step dad ran over him with the lawn mower without even realizing it. We took it to the pet store and the pet store guy said it was a water turtle and he had no clue how it had survived so long outside of water. Also judging from the looks of it, it hadn't eaten in like a week. Plus he had an infection on his face and something called "Shell Rot". He recovered from all three. We built a pond outside for him which he would escape from and go in our chlorine pool. We would have to fish him out every time. I'm convinved that Splinter could not die.
