Yep. A couple weeks ago, in fact. I needed a head lamp assembly and a grill to repair the damage caused by a 300 pound squirrel that insisted on sunning BACK out into the street to hit me after I missed it the first time. F*cking stupid deer. Luckily I was still slowing down after the initial near miss and was nearly stopped when she ran back into the street for another try, otherwise I could have causes a LOT more damage and $50 wouldn't have been nearly enough to fix it.

ha! many times...i tagged along when my dad used to always get parts for our current heap at the junkyards, rather than pay full price at a parts store. as an adult i've gotten parts for our own vehicles at junkyards, like computer modules, etc.

I was looking for and found a new inside door handle for a 1978 Dodge Colt station wagon. We used to get batteries for an old junker for $5 each. We'd buy two (my brother and I) and use the second one when the first one crapped out, which was never too long. My dad could never understand why a car should cost more than $50 and I never had more than $20.

Many times. I had an '82 Ford Escort. That thing was down more than it was running. Fortunately, there was an '82 Mercury Lynx at our local junkyard that had been totalled from the rear. Since they were the same car except for the grill and nameplate, I was slowly turning my Escort into a Lynx. I was there more often than not.

Yes. The mother took me there and left me because I was still 3 years old and sucked my thumb. What was I looking for? Someone else to take me home.

Many times...I was so well known by the "junk yard dog" he never bothered me when I was looking for parts for my Jeeps (real Jeeps built by Willis) as well as all my other cars. My problem is now junk yards are crushing the cars older than 5 or 6 years. My newest car is 13 years old! It is getting harder to find good used parts.
