  • Sure it's possible, but less likely -- the lender is going to see that you're still on the hook for the other loan, add that into your "back end ratio" for total debt, and you'll need enough income to qualify after that addition is made. If he can't buy you out, the only real option is to sell the place, unless you want to be eternally bound to his housing arrangement.
