I don't think so. A few biblical references don't a Christian band make.

It's the first I've heard of this, but they may be. Some bands find religion and religious imagery good material for lyrics but this doesn't mean they are Christians, though because of this they are sometimes thought of (wrongly) as being.

im not sure but theyre an awesome band :) upward over the mountain is the most special song...and their version of such great heights is just beautiful :')!

No; in an interview with Prefix magazine, Samuel Beam said, "When I say I'm not religious, I mean I'm not a Christian. I'm more like agnostic; I'm not an atheist by any means." Check out his interview with prefixmag.com for more info.

Iron and Wine is really just one guy: Sam Beam. He is agnostic, but grew up in a Christian environment which is why those themes appear in his music. An actual Christian artist in the same league as Iron and Wine is Sufjan Stevens. You should check him out.
