  • I think more people turn to God, therefore God is more powerful. God is known to have done thing that no other person could, including Satan
    • OrangeDonRump
Both of those creatures are MAKE BELIEVE - so they equal each other.
  • no, god is more powerful
    • OrangeDonRump
Really? Is this the very same god that you can't prove to anyone?
  • if satan were in front of me id put him in a big blender and burn his juice
  • God is more powerful than satan.
  • Actually I think Satan is more powerful...and much more interesting.
  • no satan is on the same level as jesus, they were both angels in heaven before satan decided he wanted to be as powerful as god! so he came down to earth!! thats why its soooo shit here!!!! straight from the bible that! honest
    • OrangeDonRump
"straight from the bible" -- that means nothing. The Bible is merely a bronze-age cult book - and has never been validated or substantiated by anyone, or by any legitimate evidence whatsoever.

What are you -- 5 years old? Your posts all sound like you're an uneducated, booger-eating little child.
  • Shocking revelations from the recently discovered Mar el Buro scrolls dating to the time of Jesus reveal that modern religion has completely misinterpreted the role of Satan and Hell in the bible. It turns out that Hell is just the smoking section.
  • No God is everything. Nothing can top God at anything.
  • No ! There is no one like unto Him!
  • Not even close. "But deliver us from evil." The last petition to our Father is also included in Jesus' prayer: "I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but I ask you to protect them from the evil one." (Jn 17:15) In this petition, evil is not an abstraction, but refers to a person, Satan, the Evil One, the angel who opposes God. The devil is the one who "throws himself across" God's plan and his work of salvation accomplished in Christ. The Bible teaches that Satan is a fallen angel. Scripture sees in this being a fallen angel, called "Satan" or the "devil". (Cf. Jn 8:44; Rev 12:9) Satan was at first a good angel, made by God: "The devil and the other demons were indeed created naturally good by God, but they became evil by their own doing." Scripture speaks of a sin of these angels. (2 Pet 2:4) This "fall" consists in the free choice of these created spirits, who radically and irrevocably rejected God and his reign. The devil "has sinned from the beginning"; he is "a liar and the father of lies." (1 Jn 3:8; Jn 8:44) It is the irrevocable character of their choice, and not a defect in the infinite divine mercy, that makes the angels' sin unforgivable. "There is no repentance for the angels after their fall, just as there is no repentance for men after death." Scripture witnesses to the disastrous influence of the one Jesus calls "a murderer from the beginning," who would even try to divert Jesus from the mission received from his Father. (Jn 8:44; cf. Mt 4:1-11) "The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil." (1 Jn 3:8) The power of Satan is, nonetheless, not infinite. He is only a creature, powerful from the fact that he is pure spirit, but still a creature. He cannot prevent the building up of God's reign. • They're both equally nonexistent
  • Satan has always desired to be as powerful as God but he will never be. Isaiah 14:12-15 tell us of his desire and his downfall. "How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to earth, you who once laid low the nations! You have said in your heart, "I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High." But you are brought down to the grave, to the depths of the pit."
  • he wishes he could be and thought he could be. Boy was he wrong.....even though alot of people think he is so so powerful..including many Christians believing that lie.
  • I'd guess no. If I were a god, I wouldn't create something more powerful than myself.
  • It depends on how powerful your imagination is. Also how bad you perceive todays world to be.
  • no that's what stared it all and in the end he will bow down to God peace and love to u
  • Yes, but he's no match for Chuck Norris.
  • I think Satan and God are each only as powerful as we believe them to be. Um... think of it in Disney terms - in Peter Pan, every time a person says they don't believe in fairies, one dies. I think the amount of faith we have in either of these two powers greatly influences their power on earth.
  • More powerful. In the bible he is repeatedly able to trick god, who is apparently omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. How the hell does that work?
  • Well, if God were considerably more powerful, you'd think his followers wouldn't be so doggone afraid of wimpy little Satan, wouldn't you?
  • No he cannot be.
  • no. because satan's power is from God.
  • God is supposedly a figure with infinite power. How can a figure with infinite power have a double? This is one question that cannot be answered correctly.
  • No, there is destroyer of every evil, who(god)is most powerful
  • Equally so. Nonexistent equals nonexistent.
  • Most people dont know this but Satan created the Universe and is good and god is the bad one. the bible was made up by god ( who is bad) which just tells his side of the story. if you heard the real story, you would know that Satan is the real god, and the one we call "god" is really just an evil being, and that the bible is an evil book. not on the surface, but it promotes hate deep down. he also created the koran. that is why christians and muslime fight. the real god ( Satan) just sits back and laughs at all the foolishness. Don't forget to be good in your life. It's important and the real god will ove you for it.
  • Satan can counterfeit power and many other types miracles but it usually exposes itself - why? because Satan is a real sucker for fame..he craves to be noticed..that's why he is always is impatient to show his ugly head after trying to be "beautiful" either physically or in his works. Unlike God , He is never boastful or arrogantly impatient to claim his glory or power from us humans. God is subtle and gentle sometimes you feel Him in a gentle breeze.
  • I don't believe he is as powerful as people say. So what I said is a general view - because i don't know entirely why he is powerful.
  • I think of them as ideas, not beings.
  • no..always wanted to be...but he knows he's not..all he can do is keep deceiving us, its the only power he has, which is powerful by the way, but no match for God and Jesus, who by the way were always RECOGNIZED by him and his demons...but , we can be more powerful than Satan by overpowering him as Jesus did at the Temptation and Job in the Test ....hard ,but possible...we just never let him in in the 1st place ...Jesus will destroy him forever in due time...:)justme
  • satan is not as powerful as god, but satan is a great deceiver and a great liar, satan was a top angel for god he was the angel of music and did many other task before he was cast down into hell.
  • No, satan is not as powerful as Creator God, not even close, but he tries his best to make people think that he is. The created (satan) is never greater than the Creator.
  • Depends on what's in yer heart yo...
  • he has powers , look at Job..but nobody or nothing ,spiritual or human, has Power over God or more power than God....we have power over satan...just as Job did...satan knows God..he knew Jesus too...but that does not stop him ...not as "intelligent " as God either ,is he?...
  • If he was, there would be no God.
  • he don't have power but God itself GAve him power to nourish satan like people
  • N-A-H!!!
  • Depends on YOU.
  • If you were God, would you create something more powerful than you are?
  • Neither is more powerful than a person's imagination.
  • Nope. Satan doesn't exist in reality.
  • Lucifer, satan god creator whatever you call it- it's fine with me. I have my opinion of what is not working for me and what is- whether it's from the bible or jews or history books it doesn't matter. What is truth is only truth to the person who is experiencing it. If you have experienced Satan your god as a loving god so be it. Whether it is blasphemous or not whether you agree or not it's not my problem. Your problem is you think you are right- but friend there is no right or wrong in AB it just opinions. So live in peace with your own peace of mind...and with your satan blessings. No offense..I'm kool here.
  • I dunno. But the fight's on Pay-per-view in July! - [have a heart, anonymous DRs?] - ;-)
  • Biblically speaking, it was written that Satan was/is a fallen angel. And it was written that angels were created by God. Can the creation surpass the creator? Highly improbable. My faith says impossible.
  • More so. Look at how many atheists there are in the world. That should give you a hint at how powerful satan has become
  • not even close
  • Nope,God created Satan... . Satan wanted to be God.The Bible tells us In 2nd Corinthians 4:4 that Satan has become the "god of this world". And Revelation 20:10 tells us that he will be eternally punished for It.
  • Is Wolverine as powerful as the Hulk?
  • no he isn't but he is more powerful than mortal man
  • simple;why is satan in a burning place while god is in heaven which supposely has streets of gold etc etc? lol yeah satan was an angel before being the devil.he thought he could be better than god so god kind of threw him out. angels are like gods helpers.
  • Lord Gorgeous...once again, I couldn't have said it better myself! I like your comment that the christian "god" is a monster! That is so true! It absolutely does not deserve any worship. Satan, on the other hand, most certainly DOES deserve worship. Satan is very CLEARLY the true God! How anyone could not see that is beyond me. I personally will align myself firmly and permanently with Satan and will reject the christian "god." Good riddance to it!
  • absolutly no because God created Satan
  • Just like God, Satan doesn't exist. So technically yes, they're both as powerful as made up characters can be.
  • Yes. More powerful than gods! Q: Who is Devil [=Satan]? (A: The one who keeps on asking "Why?", that's who!) Devil/Satan is nothing but an objective and enquiring human mind seeking knowledge & TRUTH. Only a human mind may be open to rational thought process[es], reason and logic; and willing to question “why”, prepared to challenge anything and everything under the sun including the sun itself! So the moment the first question ‘why’ pops into your conscious, you have become the “victim” of Devil, “possessed” even! But is that such a bad thing? Or, “WHY is being a “victim of Devil” a bad thing? See? It is that easy to ‘fall prey’ or ‘surrender oneself’ to The Devil! Unlike many competing Gods, there is only one Devil and from the beginning of time, and Devil is stronger! Devil has endured many gods single-handedly --just by being itself-- and apparently with great success. All god-men believe that Devil is still around, don’t they? Gods [through god-men] need ‘Devil’ to justify their own [and their respective god’s] pseudo-existence, but Devil needs no God, ‘Devil’ is self-sufficient! All Gods jealously compete with Devil for ‘betterness’, Devil couldn’t care less! Even all godmen admit: Devil is always happy, always smiling! His eyes have a lively glint! And like a true friend, the Devil does not expect anything in return: no obedience, loyalty, spiritual ritual, prayers, offerings or sacrifice! --other than the ‘virtual currency of your soul’, according to the religionists, of course. But is that such a bad thing? Or, “WHY is giving your ‘soul’ to Devil, ---or ‘keeping a mind open to doubt, rationality, reason and logic’-- bad? How can it harm you? So, who is your friend now?
  • The Creator will ALWAYS be more powerful than the creation!
  • Satan is one of God's childen. no, he isn't and never will be. ever.
  • The whole idea of satan is nothing without the idea of god. So then yes because either is only an idea. Neither will 'win' in the end.
  • According to google 28 600 000 pages for Satan and 470 000 000 for God. God wins hands down.
  • Every belief, every superstition, and mental type, had its natural genesis once--the "Devil" included. And the Church is no different; in fact, this effigy they call "Satan" is the best friend the church has for them to justify the doctrine of "salvation". It is a fundamental part of the Christian scheme. How then would they be able to frighten people into their fold of faith if there is no "Satan"? If there's no "Satan" then there's no need for a "Redeemer". But in reality, there's no origin of evil in the moral domain that is not derived from ignorance and devilish determination of some people to do wrong or permit the wrong to be done by others. But that's not what the preachers, including my own preacher father, teach their flocks. I know it, I've been in church. The weekly whipping of the devil is pretty well played out to get a Sunday sensation or solace out of it. A plunging of the theological poker red-hot into their seven day dose of spiritual flip to give it a zest; and using the "hell-fire" and the pourtrayal of a god who vivisected his "only son", as a persuader. There's your 'Satan"
  • No. That is why he and his minions are going to spend eternity in the lake of fire. And it will NOT Be a pleasure cruise.
  • no.god created an angel ,who through his own ego and self importance....made himself into satan (gods opposer)
  • Satan is the true God. All others are mythical.
  • No, but he sure seems smarter, and more fun.
  • nope but he was an angel after all
  • Nothing touches the power of God. Satan is a mere delusion of desire made manifest. God is the creator of everything.
  • You cannot have a god without a devil. They balance each other. Otherwise why worship god? I expect Sunday services at Christian churches would be pretty bleak without an adversary. It is the same reason totalitarian states need enemies. They have to protect their citizens from some outside threat, otherwise the citizens (parishioners) would focus on the fault of their creed and their leaders. If god were real, satan would have to be real also, one protects against the excesses of the other.
  • Nope, God is more powerful than Satan. Though, Satan has been given free will by God and can cause a lot of damage IF ALLOWED TO.
  • No he is not. satan is a created being, the leader of the fallen angels that rebelled against God and started a war in Heaven. They rebelled because of the fact that they were not as powerful as God. Only God is all knowing, all powerful, and ever present.
  • NO thats all you neeed to know
  • Yes satan is powerful then God ,beause that is the test between good and evil.
  • Satanists think so. And even many Christians think that human recruits will be needed at the Armageddon if he is to be beaten, so maybe there is something to it.
  • I think he is as powerful as God and he is waiting for the right opportunity to takeover. But since they dont exist there is nothing to wory about.
  • No, ONE Satan is more powerful than ALL different countless gods! The closest to godliness is the chain of 'question-doubt-curiosity-experiment-analysis-discovery' that cuts through the darkness of ignorance and reveals truth. But anti-knowledge religions attribute these virtues to 'mischief of Satan-Devil-Lucifer'! Discovery of Devil in Search of Satan: “Cheer up! Satan /Devil is your best friend!” Q: Who is Satan [=Devil]? (A: The one who keeps on asking "Why?" that's who!) Satan (Devil) is nothing but ‘radical doubt’, an objective and enquiring human mind seeking knowledge & TRUTH. See? It is that easy to ‘fall prey’ or ‘surrender oneself’ to Satan the Devil! But is that too such a bad thing? Or, “WHY is giving your ‘soul’ to Devil, --- or ‘keeping a mind open to doubt, rationality, reason and logic’-- bad? How can it harm you? So, who is your friend now? Hence, ‘Devil does not automatically equate evil’, ‘vice’ and ‘virtue’ are relative to whose side one is on! Devil is not ‘anti-God’ either! Devil means no harm to those who don’t believe in it, or even who preach hatred against it. By definitions of these “religionists”, Devilishness, or Satanism are relative, negative entity[ies], e.g., “all that is not God is evil, i.e. in control of Devil.” Thus ‘God is ‘anti-Devil’, The Devil who is pro-you and anti-nothing! Unlike God, Devil doesn’t call God any bad-names, it just ignores God, Devil is carefree! On the contrary, God and its pimp-gang can’t rest quiet for a moment without being tormented by Devil’s presence, whereabouts, activity and effect! “They frenziedly froth badmouthing Devil”! So rationally, who is the ‘more evil’ between the two? Certainly no Devil! Devil has never needed any prophets, priests, pimps or prostitutes to support or fight for it either. Devil is not pretentious. Gods’ pimp-gangs always depict him bald, horny with a sting-in-the-tail, but even they have to admit: Devil is always happy, always smiling! His eyes have a lively glint! Why should one be afraid of Devil? One should not be! One doesn’t need to be!! Devil is your best friend!!! Only the prophet-priest-pimp-class “religionists” want you to ‘be afraid of Devil’ for their ‘conflict of their own interest’, the interest being keeping your mind closed and stopping you from enquiring into all their stupid dogmas, so embarrassing to these “religionists”! Stopping you from seeking knowledge –of anything. “Ignorance is bliss, a bliss that all non-human living beings have enjoyed through evolution!!” As you know, The Devil is ‘pro-you’ and anti-nothing! Should one be afraid of doubt, curiosity, rationality, reason and logic? All these things have improved human condition and resulted in knowledge, comfort & justice!’ True, Devil is pro-TRUTH and wouldn’t support ignorance, irrationality, illogical superstition, and the like; but Devil is anti-nothing because all these things will self-destruct anyway! Like the “Hindu” concept of Param Atman Brahmam, all ‘natural knowledge’ of ‘truth’ is within a person, just concealed by ignorance, Devil is always within you, Devil’s presence revealed with your first ‘why’ and the petals of ignorance falling off with each subsequent why, thus revealing the knowledge and inner truth more and more. Once so ‘revealed’, Devil stays with you throughout your life, Devils’s friendly presence within you enriching you like a tasty morsel, mellow old wine, --or a prolonged orgasm! Unlike god, Devil doesn’t claim to replace either tasty food, wine, or orgasm! Devil calls ‘bread & wine’ as ‘food’ and not some ‘flesh-n-blood of a pious person’ from the past. Devil is honest! Devil delivers here and now! No future promises of ‘eternal life’, ‘heaven’, no bluff! So there is absolutely no need to be afraid of Devil, but ignore Devil at your own Peril! If a[ny] God[s] is[are] so ‘all-knowing’ and ‘all-powerful’, why did it “create” --or allowed to exist—Devil… & ‘non-believers’?! "Sure, Gods are great, but there is only ONE Satan & he is obviously greater More powerful SuperMan!"
  • Satan is a powerful spirit creature, originally created by God as an angel, a spirit son with access to God heavenly court. (Job 1:6) However, Satan exercised his free will in opposition to God; with cunning he led Eve and, through her, Adam into disobedience and death. (2 Corinthians 11:3) Thus, he became Satan, meaning “Adversary”—a rebel, a demon, a manslayer, and a liar. (John 8:44) How appropriate is Paul’s expression that “Satan himself keeps transforming himself into an angel of light,” when in actual fact he is a ‘world ruler of this darkness’! (2 Corinthians 6:14; 11:14; Ephesians 6:12) By enticing other angels to rebel, he led them out of God’s light into his own darkness. He became “the ruler of the demons.” Jesus also identified him as “the ruler of this world.” Obviously, in order to be a ruler, he has to exist as a created spirit person.—Matthew 9:34; 12:24-28; John 16:11. While Satan is rarely mentioned in the Hebrew Scriptures, he is fully exposed in the Christian Greek Scriptures—so much so that we encounter the name Satan there 36 times and the word Devil, 33 times. He is also identified under other names and titles. Two of these were used by John at Revelation 12:9: “So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth.” Matthew 12:24-27; 2 Corinthians 6:14, 15. The great Adversary is not idle. (1 Peter 5:8) Perhaps that is why a proverb says, “The Devil finds work for idle hands to do.” He is out to subvert all genuine Christians. (2 Timothy 3:12) And he can concentrate on God people for one simple reason—he already has the rest of the world in his power! (1 John 5:19) Today’s world is Satan’s world. He is its ruler and god, whether people recognize it or not. (John 12:31; 2 Corinthians 4:4) As a consequence, he will resort to every crafty or subtle act or suggestion in order to subvert God people, either individually or collectively. Mark 4:14, 15; Luke 8:12.So the Devil is very powerful, but God is (all-powerful.) He can and will undo all the effects that wickedness has had on mankind. When God acts, he will do so in a way that will end evil forever!
  • No.....He is a created being.
  • Nope not even close. Love is more powerful than evil but evil can really get to you if there is no love.
  • Obviously not, but he is indeed powerful, far more then us.
  • no satan has already lost god... it just has to play out!
  • Absolutely not.... Satan rules the Earth, and our attachments and ignorance of the veil of illusion keep us in a constant taking another lifetime stuck in the quagmire of falsehood....But as soon as we realize that God exists within us as us we can pierce the veil of illusion, and realize that God is Absolute and the real power of the universe without any doubt.
  • Read the book of Job.
  • Revelation 12:7-9 & Revelation 20:3 are just a couple of scriptures that answer your question.
  • Well who kicked whom out of Heaven? Satan trembles at the name of God.
  • Since the cross he only has the power of lies, if he can get you to believe his lies he can control you by them. Other than the power of lies he is a defeated foe, praise Christ!
  • It takes an Almighty God to be the most powerful. Revelation 19:15 "From His mouth comes a sharp sword (His Word) with which He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He will tread the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty [in judgment of the rebellious world]."
  • God is more powerful than satan
  • Not even as powerful as Jesus [Michael in heaven ] (Revelation 20:1-3) And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven with the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. 2 He seized the dragon, the original serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for 1,000 years. 3 And he hurled him into the abyss and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not mislead the nations anymore until the 1,000 years were ended. After this he must be released for a little while. Almighty God Jehovah created ALL the angels, Jesus being the very first... So the angel [ Archangel ] kicking Satan and his demons out of heaven has to be Jesus...And in the same 'vein' it is jesus who will rid the earth of wicked people and wicked systems... (Revelation 6:2) And I saw, and look! a white horse, and the one seated on it had a bow; and a crown was given him, and he went out conquering and to complete his conquest. Again, here is Jesus, having been GIVEN the power to overthrow evil, is still subservient to Jehovah...Jehovah gave him the ' crown' making Jesus the King of the incoming kingdom...Matthew 24:14.
  • Assuming an Abrahamic God and a Evangelical/Catharist Satan: God asks you for your soul, Satan just takes it. Satan influences more day-to-day activities on Earth. Therefore Satan is more powerful in terms of affecting a person.
  • It depends only and only upon you my dear friend..
  • Not as powerful as Jehovah God...or Jesus... (Revelation 20:1-3) And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven with the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. This is Jesus...doing the chaining. But Satan is more powerful than us...and more cunning. His biggest weapon these days is SEX... Just look at the modern magazines...in the newsagents. But Satan is not allowed to directly kill us...So we get ourselves drunk and do it ourselves... (Proverbs 23:20) Do not be among those who drink too much wine, Among those who gorge themselves on meat, (Proverbs 20:1) Wine is a ridiculer, alcohol is unruly; Whoever goes astray by them is not wise. Yet Jesus did not totally disapprove of drinking wine...He DID turn water to wine at the Caana wedding...Its all in moderation...

According to Revelations 20, the serpent in Genesis, Satan is turned into a serpent, yet in Job 1:7, which occurs later, Satan is "walking up and down in" [the earth]. The passage in Revelation is clearly contradictory. Genesis itself never mentions Satan by name, so, according to Jewish tradition, the serpent tempting Eve is not Satan, yet according to Christian tradition, specifically evangelical philosophy, they are the same. This means that Satan has the power to reverse the judgement God has placed upon him in a reversal of God's Will, making the Satan of Christian tradition more powerful than the God in the same tradition.

Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was the most cautious of all the wild animals of the field that Jehovah God had made. So it said to the woman: “Did God really say that you must not eat from every tree of the garden?” NWT This is the first mention of the serpent, and you are right Satin is not mention by name in Genesis, although if you go to Revelation 12:9 which says "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." KJV the NWT put it this way "So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him." KJV Old Serpent NWT Original Serpent. Look at John 8:44 here Jesus is making a comparison between the religious leaders of that time and the Devil; "You are from your father the Devil, and you wish to do the desires of your father. That one was a murderer when he began, and he did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks according to his own disposition, because he is a liar and the father of the lie." NWT "a murder" when his actions caused Adam and Eve to die. "Father of the Lie" he had to lie about Jehovah God's actions to make Eve to see the fruit as something to she needed and then offered it to her husband, which caused their death. These scriptures and others show that the serpent in Genesis is the Devil. was he an actual snake? No, just like a ventriloquist can make an inanimate object seem to talk, wouldn't be reasonable to think that spirit creature could do the same? Now as for Satin being more powerful than God? No, I would like to direct you to Hebrews 2:14 which says plainly that God (though his Son Jesus) will put the Devil to death. 'Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; KJV. • No. In fact humans have dominion over Satan. We can command him as well as the angels.
  • Don't be silly.
  • The clay isn't great than the potter.
  • On a universal scale the devil doesn't even compare slightly to God the devil is currently confined to the planet Earth he's quarantined here along with us neither the devil nor us has the knowledge or the ability to go very far from the planet Earth. Here on Earth the devil is the ruler of this system of things exactly as the Bible says he's King here on Earth and on the planet Earth he's more powerful than Christians or God for the time being. But the Bible says whoa unto the Earth and to the people that are on the ocean because the devil has come down to you and he's very angry because he knows he doesn't have very long to go.
  • Yes. Both are equally imaginary
  • No since God made Satan
  • Of course not. God kicked Satan out of heaven when he became prideful and wanted to be God. Remember that Satan was created and God always was and will always be.
  • Yes both are as equally ridiculous, to think that in 2021 people still believe in this vodo is disturbing. 😆
