M Shadows did the screaming. He stopped when he bursted his blood vessels in his vocal cords.

M Shadows then he had to stop screaming because he developed a condition which forced him to stop screaming if he wanted to continue to make music.

First off, when they started Avenged Sevenfold, Matt knew that he didn't want do do all screaming. He said so himself in the All Excess DVD when they were talking about why 'fans' were mad that he's no longer screaming. Only in one song did he not do the full screaming. That song was The Art of Subconsious Illusions and the screaming was done by Val. The lyrics she screams are "Punching slowly my mind can't change the speed no matter what I do or what I try." Don't believe me, well, it's in the booklet in Sounding The Seventh Trumpet. Yes, he stopped because it was screwing up his vocals. He still screams occasionally but no where near as often as he did because he doesn't want to stop singing.
