Absolutely!
-
No but I want to be and dont know how I would get a donor card!
-
yes I donated a Hammond d-8 to my church.
-
Not yet...Maybe I am a little afraid, like what George Carlin said: If you are in a car crash, people who should be trying to help you as soon as they find out that you are an organ donor will be looking for body parts!!!!
-
Yes. And my corpse will go to the University of Tennessee Forensic Anthropology Center (aka, THE BODY FARM).
-
Do you mean if I have already donated a organ or have signed to be persective organ donor? I am not an organ donor as yet, but have signed the card giving my consent to use any part of my body for transplant or research.
-
Yes. Im not going to need them when I go..I just hope some greedy doctor doesnt just "let" me go to sell my organs to the highest bidder.
-
Yes, I am.
-
If I die unexpectedly then I want all of my organs and tissue (except for anything having to do with my eyes) donated to people that need it so I can still be living in other people! And I give blood!
-
I am but I assure you that no one will want my organs when I'm done with em!
-
yes.
-
Definitely, not that they will want any, but they can have them and my dead body to play with before I am cremated.
-
No I am Not, but with a little effort and a national push, I might become one...You know, jump on the band wagon and all that patriotic stuff. I hear of the cause and there seems to be one or two people in my life who have told me about the program, even on my drivers license there is a place for such an act...I don't think anyone has ever come up to me with an application and described the program & then asked me to be a donor...I don't think I want to be so forward acting in coming to this decision...
-
Yes most definately!
-
I feel that if i dont do it for someonem, no one would do it for me, so of course!!
-
Yes, what good are my organs for me if im dead..someone else can have them for all i care
-
Yep. Of course my healthy lifestyle means that my lungs and liver probably won't help anyone....
-
Well, yes, but not this minute, I'm using them.
-
Yep thay can take what they want and can use when I die, I won't exactly be using it any more. Most importantly I have told several different members of my family, so there can be no question or debate among them at such a critical time.
-
Yes definately, except for my eyes
-
Yes and I have looked after them all for the next person.
-
yes . Im not going to need them when Im dead, and it would be great for something good to come out of my death, by someone else being able to use my good organs.
-
Not yet. All my major organs are currently in use I'm afraid. But I'm on the register to the effect that anyone is welcome to whatever they like once I'm dead. It's not like it'll be any good to me.
-
yeap
-
Yes I am and I am proud of it!!
-
Yes. Everything usable can be taken. Whatever's left of my body can be donated to science. If they don't want it, it can be donated to science fiction.
-
Not yet, I'm still in the process of using them, but the second I'm done, they can take what they want
-
No. I'm still using all my organs thanks, I have'nt even fully broken in my liver quite yet.
-
Of course! I certainly won't be using them anymore! Besides, shouldn't everyone be willing to donate?
-
Yeah, but i don't have a little card that says so, i'm just on a database somewhere. I've said I will donate everything except for my corneas, for some reason that really freaked me out.
-
Yes. Dead people don't need organs. They can take whatever they want, personally I recommend taking my heart. It's nice and healthy.
-
I sure am.
-
Nope, I'm ineligible. If I could I would, depsite the fact that my mother thinks the hospital will just let you die so they can have your organs-what a paranoid case!
-
Yes, I am. I'm not going to have any use for them when I'm gone, and if I can help someone who can use them for any reason, then why not donate.
-
yes I am.
-
No, not yet but I am willing, if the time comes when someone needs one, and I am a good match.
-
Someday, maybe.
-
Yes, What do I need with them If im dead
-
I would like to be but for health reasons I cant. Heart diease for starters
-
no
-
I've been happily donating my organ to women all over since puberty.
-
Yes, so if I am near death after a car reck, the guys will say oh well he is close enough to die, lets get his organs YAY! lol
-
no, as soon as i turn 18 i will be:D
-
No, I'm not dead yet, and I've never had cause to donate a kidney to anyone. When I die I'm quite happy for my organs to be donated though!
-
I filled out a form last week, I don't have my card yet.
-
no because i am scared of death and prefer not to think about it
-
HECK YEAH I AM!! Why would anyone not be? I mean honestly, if you can help someone, and give them things that you yourself don't even need anymore..why would you not do it? Be an organ donor, save lives!!
-
My driver's license says I am a donor, and my family knows if there is anything left worth donating, they need to donate it. My mother's corneas were donated (with her cancer, wasn't much else we could donate), allowing a teenager to see for the first time, and a grandpa see his grandkids for the first time. What other reasons does one need to donate, than helping someone like that?
-
Yes I am, because it means something good comes out of my death, it's ice to know it will help someone, and i would hope someone would donate me body parts if i needed them. Actually, weirdly though, i found out the other day that in my up coming operation i will need donor parts, and the idea has REALLY freaked me out. I am so greatful, don't get me wrong, i just find the thought of it weird!!
-
Absolutely, it gives me peace to know that my death could give someone else a chance to live. I remember when I first got my driver's license and became an organ donor, my mother was really upset saying that if I was a donor and was in an accident, that they wouldn't try as hard to save me because they'd be anxious to get my organs. I do not believe this. Even if there are some professionals who have gotten caught up in this kind of thing, I believe that the majority of medical professionals will do their best to keep me alive.
-
Yes. Because I can help someone. Good coming out of bad. Nothing bad in that.
-
Yes, because I feel it is one way I can give to someone else something I no longer need that might keep them alive, restore their vision, or other vital things.
-
no, personal choice
-
I didn't think much of it until my little brother passed away and all his organs were donated. We got letters and letters of people my brother helped and I realized what a miracle it is to those who need it.
-
Yep. I believe in recycling :)
-
Yes, I wouldn't want someone 'in need' to not have what they want. I, personally, wouldn't accept a donated organ because well, if I'm going to die, it's my time. (Well, there are exceptions to that though..)
-
yes, i am but what would someone want with 48 lbs. of pumpkin seed? Of course, I am a donor, it is the ultimate gift of love to all mankind. Does anyone want my spleen? How about my brain? Hardly ever used.
-
I am, but I will be damned if David Crosby or Larry Hagman are getting my liver! It seems foolish not to be an organ donor. If the life of somebody I loved was hanging in the balance, I could only hope that somebodys generosity would save them. It's not for everyone though. I don't think people who opt out are bad, to each his own.
-
Not yet - I hope they'll wait until I'm dead. Both my driver's license and my health card list me as one, in the event ...
-
Yes. Once I'm dead and gone, I won't need them. It seems wasteful to destroy what could otherwise help or even save someone else.
-
Yes I am. everything but my eyes i just have this thing i need to see in the next world. Stupid i know
-
Yes because I really don't think I am going to need them if I die. I mean don't they take them out when they are preparing the body anyway?O r if I am cremated they will be burned so why not give them to someone who can use them to stay alive. Just because my life is over doesn't mean I can't help.
-
Yes I would.
-
Yes I would. If it's after i am dead then they can have whatever they want. If it's while I am alive then I would donate whatever I could live without.
-
yeah i would and when i die they're all up for grabs
-
Yup. Just not one I *currently* use. Apart from a kidney, I'd give my spare one away.
-
Yes, when I die, they can take anything they like. I won't be needing it.
-
yep. my eyes!
-
Not right this minute.
-
Yes I sure would
-
i am a donor. it's on my license.
-
Yes, it's marked down as so on my drivers licence. If i'm killed in a car accident, or when thre licence is used as I.D. at a hospital, as long as the information is gained quickly enough, I might be saving someone elses life.
-
Only if I was asked nicely and not currently in need of said organ :) Yes, I am an organ donor.
-
One reason not to donate an optional organ is that a family member might need it in the future.
-
yes i would i mean after i died i would but if someone need a kidney i would give it to them. other wise they would have to wait:)
-
I would like to think I would, but as of yet, have done nothing about actually changing my drivers licence to say that I would be a donor.
-
I would not rule it out. I am not looking for the opportunity, but if it was right and I was able, I would consider it.
-
i always donate my organ.lol
-
I am, because I know that once I die, I won't need all of them, and knowing that my organs might save someone's life, I could not think of a better option!
-
Yes I am an organ donor. Once I die why not help out others?
-
I cant yet because im 16 but i will do, its reassuring knowing that my organs will be used to save someone elses life
-
Yeah, man, why not? - I got an old Hammond around here somewhere.... but seriously, folks! Yes, if anyone wants one of my bits when I'm gone, good luck and long life to them.
-
I am an organ donor. I was going to ask this question the other day but it seemed kinda odd for me so I didn't. I am glad you did. I wish everyone could be a donor. I think it would save alot of lives.
-
G'day Munchkin18, Thank you for your question. No I am not an organ donor but I should be. In fact, I have decided to register now at this site for Australians. http://www.medicareaustralia.gov.au/yourhealth/our_services/aodr/how_register.shtml Hopefully, we can get a few other people to join us. Regards
-
Yeah I am because I dont need my organs when i die, and i can also help somebody
-
Yes I am. I decided to make this decision because I have a few family members who have received organs through donation and I think if I ain't using it, someone else can!
-
I will be, but I do not drive, so have no licence to write it on. My family knows the drill though...wait till I am dead and then do whatever you like with what is left...
-
i am. plain and simple answer .... because in the event that i am able to donate my organs i won't be needing them anymore! they would just be tossed out with the body anyways so they may as well save or enrich as many lives as possible.
-
I am, except for my corneas. I'm not able to cope with the idea of losing my eyes, which is stupid and irrational because I'm pretty sure I won't have any use for them. But hey.
-
yes i am. I would want someone to have a second chance in life if i could help.
-
yes.
-
Not at this point, but I want anything useful to be donated when I die (and if I can help someone with bone marrow or a kidney while alive I will do that).
-
nope...i chose to die with all of me still attached (depending on my death)
-
yup as well as a blood donar
-
I donated an old one to a church in Indonesia once... seriously, not yet, but if they can use them when I die, they can have them. I won't be needing them.
-
No. I wouldn't change my mind either. If you're taken into a hospital and the dr's think there's no chance of you surviving they'll take your organs before you die. I don't want anyone taking any part of me, or deciding my life for me, there's hope till the very end!
-
Yes, after I die what am I going to use it all for? I'm willing to give my "woman" parts to someone for transplant, it's just a shame they only use cadavers right now. One day I hope they'll do living donor transplants of that. It would be amazing to give someone else the chance to have a baby, that they wouldn't have otherwise.
-
Yes. I'm not sure how useful my body parts will be due to long-term lithium usage, but if I can save another person's life when my own is obviously past and the organs are only going to be thrown away, then why not?
-
No I'm not an organ doner, I need ny organs, they keep me alive.
-
You bet..it would be so cool to help someone else stay alive.
