  • Of course you can send without a return address. The postman doesn't care who sent it, he just needs to know where to deliver it.
  • I think that those who have answered this question previously need to go back and read it again. The question is about whether the SENDER has to include his/her name and address. The answer is, no, it is not necessary. As long as the letter/parcel has the recipient's address on it the Postal Service will attempt to deliver it. The main reason for including the sender's address is so that, if there is a problem with delivery (the address is not correct for example or you don't put the correct postage on it), the Postal Service can return it to you.
  • Some mail does require the sender to include their name and address. Certified mail and registered mail require a return address. Packages without a return address, especially with stamps affixed are suspicious and may be shipped by truck instead of by air, delaying them. Regular mail with just a stamp on it does not need a return address, but if you addressed it wrong you'll never see it again.
  • Of course. Otherwise postcards, which usually don't have the sender's name and address, wouldn't ever get delivered. Chevalier Daniel C. Boyer
  • Mail in the UK very seldom has the name and address of the sender. It is only necessary to have the address of the person to whom you are sending the letter.
  • if the letter is going to a federal prison , to an inmate, the prison requires that a return address is on the envelope. it is possible to mail a letter without a sender's address or a recipient's address. you can mail it, it will just go to the dead letter office for distruction.
  • no. actually a few weeks ago i got a letter with no return address and in it was this article about christians in the middle east and there were things hi lighted in it that were meant to make me read out of context. the purpose was because i'm a muslim and i was catholic. i still haven't found out who sent it to me, but i was realy upset and offended that they didn't just come out and tell me what was on their mind about me converting instead of being a coward about it
