  • YEs, Me and my friends, are always taking pictures.
  • When I'm on vacation I always take a lot of pictures. One thing I always do is take a picture from my hotel window wherever I stay. It's interesting to me, anyway.
  • No, I am not a photo freak. I have bought a Canon camera and I hardly use it yet. I think my good friend Thomas is. During our tour of Beijing and Xian last year he had taken about 1,300 pictures.

  • Yes and glad of it. :) Can't even begin to say how happy I am for the invention called a digital camera! How awful it was in the old days to take photos, travel home, oops .. didn't get the shot. With digital, we KNOW right then and there. But to answer your question? I take a lot of photos. It's just like the writing in a journal. Text and images. Life on the planet. Together, they tell a story. I've been learning how to do better with oral interviews. So soon it'll be be images, text and voice. Life stories. If not captured, organized, told .. by us .. then who will tell them? No one. To me, our human history is sorely lacking if it comes from professional historians pouring through FAMOUS people, places, events and from there, trying to write the history books and assign "meaning". The truth can only come if more voice - more diversity - more IMAGES - are part of that human story that becomes .. our collective history. So yes, on a very personal level, I love taking photos. But from a family history or local community history perspective? There are sights and sounds and events and people and causes and silliness and important heritage .. that NEED to be captured and preserved. Beyond even all that .. the justifications? Shoot, I have fun taking pictures. :)
