  • Not sure how the application for a Macy's card factors in unless when you applied for that card you agreed to make your monthly payments through a pre-authorized debit plan. If there was a fee charged for opening that account, perhaps that is what the debit charge was for. A pre-authorized debit is when you have a payment for something automatically withdrawn each month. Some people do that for credit card payments. You must authorize it though, as the name implies. If you authorized no such thing, call your bank and ask them to look into it. If it is related to the Macy's card application, call them and ask them to send you proof that you authorized the debit (It could have been in the fine print, you never know). You can usually just request not to make payments using a pre-authorized debit and that resolves the issue. Good luck.
