  • Keep the leash on the dog. It may take two people but when you smart moving and he starts his antics pull hard on the leash and command no. Then start again and again use the same treatment. He will eventually get the idea. Mr Bill
  • When I got my dog someone gave me a book called "Good Owners, Great Dogs". I had been a professional horse trainer and already knew alot about animals, but this book had amazing positive reinforcing ways of correcting problems that I never thought of. I have since given the book away, but you should get it.
  • Hi! Your dog is afraid. If he is crate trained put him in a crate and cover the sides and top with a tablecloth or something lightweight like that. Talk calmly to him. The crate will give him a sense of security and the cover will hide the moving 'stuff' he can see through the window and doesn't understand. This isn't a behaviour to be 'corrected', in my opinion....it is an anxiety behaviour to be understood and gently dealt with. Very short car rides at first. Something has scared this dog...possibly being loose in a car in his past which suddenly braked and he was hurt? Who knows? Be encouraging and supportive. Treats for every time he lies calmly on the seat for one minute..... Good luck!
