  • Well, I don't think Christians would claim that God's first choice was Christianity; in fact I don't think that Christianity was intended to be a religion. Rather, Christianity is a continuation of Judaism in that Christians believe that Jesus came to fulfill the prophesies of the Jewish scriptures. Christianity broke off when many Jews did not accept Jesus as a messiah. Also, anthropologically, religion, and specifically the belief in a the divine, is a universal concept that developed independently to cultures throughout the world. So I would wager that the deep roots of all religion were planted about the same time, just in different areas. So technically speaking it was not a single religion that brought forth the God concept first but rather the entire inhabitants of Earth believing that God had brought God's concept of humanity to them instead.
