you are causing your dog more torture. She could have seizures and vomit and who knows what all and it could take her days to die. you should have just taken her to the vet. you could have still been with her when she went. as is it, you have caused her more harm. If you are lucky, she will die within a few hours.

First of all, messing with drugs you have no idea about in terms of effect on the animal is definately NOT humane. You are far more likely ot put the animal through more misery along the path to putting her to sleep. If you insist on putting her down yourself, then at least have the decency to do it quick and painless. A bullet through the brain when she's not looking will do this far better. At least she'll never know what hit her and not suffer at all. You can be with your dog during the whole process of a vet putting her to sleep, if you wish. This way she's with her loving family to the end. And the way they put her to sleep will not cause her additional pain and suffering along the way.

When I had my dog put down, I took him to a vet. It only cost around $40 (if you don't get cremation). You will have to bury her yourself though. Please don't put her down in such an inhumane way, take her to the vet, it's painless and inexpensive.

OMG!! This is just SICK.. this just makes me mad and want to cry all at the same time. I could NEVER do this to one of my dogs. This is going to be a very painful and scary death for this dog. You should have taken the dog to the vet and if you wanted to do it at home ask them to either come out and do it or put in an IV so you could do it. At this point I hope she has already passed, but if not, please either take her to the vet and have her put to sleep or at the absolute least take her out side give her hugs, make her comfortable and shoot her (Yes this option will be difficult, or it should be, but you have already done the damage and you have to do what is right for her now... although if you can drug the hell out of her maybe shooting her won't be so difficult), you are making her suffer FAR worse than whatever she was dealing with before! You are saying that you don't feel right letting strangers put her down, but you are ok with wrestling her down and shoving a ton of pills down her throat and then sitting there and watching as her internal organs start to shut down and she fills with toxins causing a SLOW and PAINFUL death all while having a drug that is messing with her brain so she is scared, doesn't know what is going on, and can't do anything to save herself. I seriously doubt that she is even able to hear your voices correctly and she probably thinks that you are strangers anyway, just in a lot more pain than what the vet would have put her through.
