Why does Squall always dream about being Laguna? Are they related to each other in some way?

    Apparently, Laguna is Squall's father. I think Kiros mentions something along the line of 'at least your not like your father' or 'at least you dont look like your father' or something along those lines when Kiros Ward and Laguna are on the Ragnarok before you near the end of disc 3.
    Also, I think I remember something about Laguna leaving Raine not knowing she was pregnant or somethin, obviously raine died and her son would have been put in an orphanage. that would also answer why he calls Ellone Sis.
    btw, been a while so my memorys a tad hazy but I think the info's right

    Ellone is responsible for sending the party into the flashbacks. Without spoiling anything, Ellone has relations to Laguna.

    i apologise for my earlier statyement lol its been awhile since i played the game but i did go back and squall is indeed laguna's child. ellone is his half sister. i think because i didn;t really liek laguna but i loved squall i think may have just stopped me remembering things lol. but yes they are related.

    look at it

    laguna- a small bit of water cut off from the sea
    raine- looks like rain water
    Squall- a fierce rain storm

    as far as I can tell they are not related in any way other than that they both know Ellone, and if they are somehow related (as the relations in that game are highly intricate) that relation would not have anything to do with the flashbacks... Ellones power is to send people back to experience the past of people she has met. while those being sent back have no power to effect choices or anthing as such, it is implied that laguna (and other such participants) are able to percieve when she is doing it... when kiros meets up with laguna in Raines bar one of them expresses that they feel the "faries" are with them today so things should go well.

    everyone called ellone sis as because she was oldest. and if u look at it rhinoa is lagunas ex's daughter. the julia heartley who wrote eyes on me marries rhinoa's dad. so wouldn;t that be a lil weird. and also squall last name is leonheart while ellones isn;t wouldn;t it be mor elikely zell as we dn't know his true last name as he uses his adopted parents name.

    Yes, they're related somehow, and while it's not expressed much in the game besides the flashbacks, by the end you should be able to make the connection well enough.
