  • To the best of my knowledge, there is no legal age limit for practicing Wicca. While there is nothing illegal in common Wiccan practice, those who object to Wicca often try to bring both criminal charges and civil suits against practioners. Thus, for protection from any potential civil or criminal issues, many Wiccan organizations require practicing members to be either legal adults or have the permission of their legal guardians.
  • No, but self-analysis, introspection, and psychological development are critical. A bright, logical, self-confident child of eight will acheive more understanding than a troubled, deluded, self-doubting human of any age. Wisdom generally tends to increase with age, though. How young are children indoctrinated into Christian churches? There seems to be an unspoken law against being 'pagan with children', however; this often results in accusations of cult tactics and brainwashing, and ends in the seizure of one's child by authorities for 'protection'...
  • No, there is not. I'm twelve and I practice Wicca.
  • Wicca is a decentralized religion. We have no central governing body that sets standards, limits, or membership criteria. Because of this, there is no age limit for practicing Wicca. Having said that, most Wiccan parents refuse to indoctrinate their child into any religion. They believe it is the child's choice to make when the child reaches an age to choose. They expose their children to a wide variety of belief systems, including their own. Therefore, the children do attend certain events; however, usually not all events. This, like everything in Wicca, depends upon the parents, the tradition (if any), and the rules of the Coven (if any). The age at which someone becomes eligible to attend also varies. I have not met a Coven led by true elders (which I define as having at least 5 years of extensive study and practice) who will train anyone under the age of 18 without the express written permission of the parent. Some will not train them even then. There are many reasons for this, the most obvious being legal protection against lawsuits by angry parents who discover their child is learning Wicca. However, many also have ethical issues, and also do not wish to invest time and energy into those who may not follow through. Teens go through rapid, vast changes. What is right for them one year can leave the radar screen altogether the next. This is natural and normal; however, it can be exhausting and discouraging for someone who has invested time and effort into training a teen. (This is not to say that we don't have many dedicated teen Wiccans, but it is almost impossible to truly identify them.) Some groups have Pagan Youth Groups as an offshoot for teens. Obviously, anyone capable of buying and reading a book, or looking up an internet website and reading it, can train themselves in Wicca.
  • as far as i know there is no age limit on practicing wicca. whoever decides to practice it should be able to practice it. it should be up to the person to decide what religion they want to choose no matter what age they are.
  • No, there is no age limit. You can begin to learn when you are young or when you are in your 80s. It doesn't matter. What matters is your desire to learn.
  • 60 years old,
  • Well first off, no there are no age limits. Keep in mind that some people still don't understand the religion on wicca. Go here for more information. http://wiccateacher.synthasite.com/
  • I think the age limit would be ... between the age when you can think for your self and right before you die....
  • No. Why would there be one?
  • Who pulled this one out of the dead letter files?
