  • Hello welderdan, ecm uses 5 volts to run almost all sensors..it does this so that the voltage remains constant and usable, and it has a smaller more precise window to work with..example--if its trying to monitor engine rpm when cranking, your battery voltage is fluctuating anywhere from 13 to 9 volts while its trying to start..so if it uses a 5 volt reduced voltage, it won't be effected by things like this..make sense? so this is normal..I would be checking your fuel pressure..you may have a bad fuel pump or bad accessory drive shaft (or pump star wheel)you may also have a pressure loss in head, like a blown injector seal..make sure there is no air getting into tank to filter to pump side (rubbed through hoses, bad fuel shutoff valves, bad fue water seperator oring..plugged filter..Jasper
