Why did the ancient Peruvians construct the Nazca lines?

It is unknown, but it is said by some that they created it as signs for parking grounds to alien spacecrafts, of whom they thought they were gods. Possibly it was done for their gods or something, like offers or something similar. But as i've said, it is pretty much unknown.

Science doesn't know, and some people believe they were pictures made for aliens. What really amazes me is that you can't tell what they are from the ground; you must be up high to accurately see what they are.

I wonder if they were used for story telling.....may be by the philosper/teachers...standing on the mtn and looking down and pointing at each image could have been how stories were continued through oral tradition maybe....

In a thousand years, will people look back at all those small islands in the shape of the world in the Middle East and wonder, why they were built? Probably. Same probably goes for the Nazca Lines. Their meaning lost in time but their images last forever.
