I picked some wild milk thistle seed which is still attached to its fibers which I pulled from the pods. How can I make easy work of separating the seeds from the fibers attached to them without picking each seed from their fibers?

This is the same problem Eli Whitney solved with the cotton gin. Think of it as trying to remove the fibers: a carding tool such as spinners use separates the fibers. If you tried brushing the fluff between two (clean) dog currying brushes over a bowl to catch the seeds it might work. The fiber would be an interesting by-product.
