Apparently, dolphins are known to copulate for the fun of it, unlike most animals who do it whenever the needs arise and serves the one function only. Who knows though, really.

Namaste! Dogs,monkeys and so on are usualy just pretty horny animals..... the males atleast. Bottle-nose dolphins and Bonobo chimpansees are the only animals where sex plays a social role. They have sex to strengthen social bonds within the group or certain special friendships. In the chimps case "gay" sex is also practiced to strengthen certain hirachial bonds.
