  • Nope. I like to use my arms and hands too much.
  • Yes and was placed in one to set my mind at ease. I have a great friend his wife works with the mentally insane and brought home a straight jacket and gave me what is called a 6 hour trail which each employee must do before they are hired. This gives them the understanding from the patients point of view and lets them understand why they may behave a certain way. I was satisfied after 15 minutes but agreed to the entire six hours I can tell you it is not a fun thing to do or is it relaxing at all.
  • Iv'e often wondered what it would be like not to be in one. uhh, aaah, oomph, eeerrr. Oh bugger. NURSE !!!
  • I'm quite certain that I would not enjoy it!
  • I don't.........All I have to do is sleep in our bed carefully made by my wife.
  • No, but I've wondered what it felt like to be out of one... LOL
  • I almost got put into one on 3 separate occasions.
  • I have worked around people in "crisis" and sometimes they can be so violent they will hurt themseves terribly. After straightjackets came another method called "5 point restraint". A person was strapped down on a bed with leather straps on each wrist, ankle, and one across the middle. They were left like that until they 'calmed' down. The problem with any kind of restraints like this is that anyone, even a "normal" person would feel great anxiety when in this position, and instead of calming down it would often lead the person to constant screaming. (Imagine how the people felt that were captured and shipped over on slave ships). The patients seemed to lose their "humanity". You could see bite marks on many of the leather straps. In fact, these type of restraints are illegal now in a lot of places. Straightjackets and restraints lost popularity when drugs came into use as an alternative: just shoot em up with a heavy-duty medication and they shut up.
