The ability to think for ourselves vs. what other people tell us to think.
The ability for our children to use their imaginations (Whatever happened to white paper, crayons, construction paper, scissors, play-doh, and glue? -- Not just for school, but at home, too!) vs. others imagining for them (CGI & TV, a curse & a blessing).

Sadly, board games. Sure, they're still making them, but when's the last time you heard of family night where everyone stayed home to play a board game. If it's not electronic or hooked up to the TV, it's usually relegated to a shelf.
Although not really obsolete, incandescent bulbs are more widely being replaced by flourescent fixtures in homes.
Email is almost starting to become obsolete, its all about the INSTANT messages now.
Rubber ball mice -> laser/wireless
Personal cheques -> plastic
my cell phone (or almost any other that DOESNT have a camera)
alkaine batteries, nickle-cadium batteries
audio CDs...
the list goes on...and thats only a few years gap...
Early versions of Windows (95, 98, 2000). Microsoft gave up on them because their quitters.
Let's see, a VCR (now it's DVD Player) maps, cashiers at stores, answering machines (now its voice mail) and last but not least sending letters, now it's done my email.

Rotary phones, but my grandma’s still holding out cuz she doesn’t want to pay the extra $2/month for touchtone service!
Corded phones in general are disappearing, though I personally would never be without one in our home. Emergency preparedness, and all that.
Let's see.........CDs/CD players, VCRs, any sort of landline at all, stamps, dial-up internet, actual paper books, paper in general, speaking (I know I email my coworker that sits in the next cubicle!) ..... and of course PEOPLE!!

Ironically I had a huge pile of papers of bank statements that had to be either filed or shredding today at work. The shredding pile was over two feet high, the filing less than an inch :P

Actually you are incorrect about paper. Paper use has actually increased over the years (a proven fact). Give it to humans for liking tangible things. But it shouldn't be surpising, people still light candles even though we have light bulbs.
