  • It wouldn't be against any laws that I know of if it is true. Not a good situation for the child, but not illegal. If it is not true, then you are dealing with an alienation of affection issue. Get thee to a lawyer. I don't know if it is illegal, but it's not going look good for her. You could potential get an injunction against such things. If you do not have a lawyer, look for someone who offers a free consultation.
  • not illegal, but not advisable. if "dad" isn't around and never will be, then if you truly want to say the bf is the dad, i'd say to do it ONLY until the real dad shows up on the scene. (it WILL happen someday). at that point explain to her that you didn't want her to be picked on by the other kids for "not having a dad" or if she's old enough to understand fully, then tell her all of the details. all children are entitled to know their parents, it's 50% of who they are...
  • No, it isnt illegal. They can get a paternity test.
  • It doesnt sound illegal to me but the more important question is, how will this affect the child? I would seek counseling for the mom and child. I think the child should at some time be told because it is her right to know who her dad is and the medical back ground could be very useful some day.
  • Well is it the truth????? Does the "father" know that hes not the father? I think I need more info before I can even begin to answer this one.
  • Depends on whether or not it is true. If mom is wanting the daughter to call the bf dad because he is the new man in her life then it would not necessarily be illegal, however, it would be considered an unhealthy emotional climate for the child. This could affect custody orders if any are in place.
