Babies can go more than once a day to once every three days and anything inbetween, depending if they are breast fed or bottle fed. You don't say how old he is. If he is uncomfortable, you could try gently massaging his tummy. Make sure he drinks plenty.

It depends on a lot of things. Exclusivly Breastfed babies will regulate themselves and are not considered constipated unless they have been pushing for three days, these babies can go a wek without pooping no problem. I don't know much about formula feeding and once a child is on solids I think the concern begins around 3 or 4 days BUT ONLY IF they are uncomfortable or struggling to push. Prune Juice would be more effective than apple juice, which may only make the problem worse. I would suggest lots of water and lots of movement. Best of Luck!

As at any age, they should poop every day in order to prevent the waste from "fermenting" inside them and releasing toxins into the bloodstream. If at the end of day 3 he still hasn't done, either make a doctor's appointment or, especially if he's in any pain, give him a baby-size glycerine suppository - that'll make him do a doodle in a few minutes!
