Their families are notified and they can take posession of the body after a ton of paperwork. If no family, it is a "paupers" burial. Cremation, and that's about it.

Well, in addition to all the serious answers, I am reasonably sure they get the balance of their sentence commuted or reduced to time served. JK And my condolences if you have lost a loved one.
