You're reading Lies & it's euphuisms. For example; veracity variances and situational approximation. Some you have seen, heard, or would like to coin. Does anyone use the word lie. Thanks

Not about to argue any of that - I did a poor job of phrasing the question. I am asking more about the obvious lie where often what is to be an apology is so oblique, that one isn't sure if there is any fault admitted. The nuancing {lie} of the truth for a greater good is a study onto itself. I would submit that even in your example above those are lies - I would call them what they are. Now to say when a lie is justifable, that is the rub. Thanks

Yes, well I think you're right -- when a lie is a lie and is being obfuscated with creative language, it's sometimes useful to point that out to someone.
