Yes, every landlord or management company should have a copy on file.

You can ask for one and in most states your landlord will be obligated to give you a copy - you just have to hope they don't change anything ;)

If you can't get one through them, talk to the agent you found the place through...

Of course you can. That doesn't mean you will receive it though.

Its simple, just ask your landlord for a copy of rental lease agreement and make sure you don't lose it in future. Even, I am also bad at managing my documents. Sometimes, i wish that there were something to deal with these paper issue. I found this interesting community on Facebook "Clip to Click", where they seem to be talking about an innovative way of managing your docs.

Ask your landlord for a copy of rental lease agreement and make sure you don't lose it in future. Even, I am also bad at managing my documents. Therefore, i recently subscribed to services of 'kleeto', which is India's first document management service that provides both physical and online storage of your documents.Further, you can retrieve documents whenever you need them. As of now, they are offeriing free trial services. Trust me, i am absolutely free from paper issues now. Now, i don't need to waste my time managing them. To know more about the kleeto, you can check this link - http://kleeto.in. And to register for free service, check this link - http://www.facebook.co/kleetoindia
