I kind of like my gray hair and so did my husband and so I never colored it once it started graying around my face in my late 40s. Then one day my dad asked in a derogatory way using language I won't repeat, why I just let myself loom like some old woman and that my mom would never do such a thing. (I bet my mom colored her hair just to avoid his criticism.) Anyway, it hurt me so bad. Yes, I would look younger if I did it and I had thought about it, even discussing it with my husband who always said he thought the gray looked like lovely highlights and not old lady gray. I was just so hurt at his words and for the first time saw an old lady in the mirror and I couldn't take the hurt so with my husband's support, I colored it. I don't color it often, he usually helps me and we do it together. But I do it when I just can't stand that woman in the mirror. I did try earlier this year to give up and go gray, but after about 8-9 months, just couldn't do it, not ready yet. SO we colored it again together. Sometimes I'm ashamed that I let myself get so hurt like that, but I just can't rid myself of the pain and I do look pretty with more color.

I actually have never fully coloured my hair...but once 4 years ago I put 4 auburn colored streaks in :) I personally like my hair color the way it is, the only reaon y i did the streaks was cause they were free and out of spite of the hair salon owner cause she was a JERK! (she didnt want to give me anything in the package that my friend bought be, perfect example of promoting their products but not coming through in the deal. Bad bad company)
