The more common definition in modern times is: # homosexual or arousing homosexual desires # homosexual: someone who practices homosexuality; having a sexual attraction to persons of the same sex So, if you a guy and you are sexually attracted to other guys the you are gay.

If you are physically attracted to the same sex? If you're unsure then you're probly not gay. Most people (expecially women) go through a time where they experiment or have thoughts about the same sex.

You know if you are gay if you are attracted to members of the same sex. How you define yourself however is very subjective. Many people define themselves as straight becasue even though they think about members of the same sex they have never actually active on these feelings. Some consider themselves to be 'experimenting', bi-curious or bi-sexual. This is not the same as just being in denial, and how you define your sexuality is up to you.

i think that just because you are somewhat attracted to the same sex, doesn't mean you're gay. personally, i "fantasize" about girls more than i do guys. but i don't consider myself gay because i don't want to be in a relationship with a girl at all.

If you see the opposite sex like family or friends even if you don't know them (in the sense of not being psychically attracted to them) is a hint. If you're gay, you might begin at questioning it, but you'll know. Just give yourself time to think about it and watch yourself to see how you look and think about people of both the opposite and same sex.

The best way to find out if you are gay or not or bi-sexual, is be honest with yourself and try to have sex with both sexes. You'll know which way you really are if you like both or only one sex, regardless which one you choose.

A lot of people are somewhere in the grey area- more attracted to men, but somewhat attracted to women for example. Like the Kinsley test! And others find women repulsive and men hot. Not everybody will be able to know for certain where they fit on the scale, but if you realy lean one way or the other you know. Women, for example, tend to be a little more indecisive about their sexuality and may even go through a phase where they are attracted to women, and then go back to seeing men.

Ok, you now tell us that he is 14 y/o, wish people would give some idea of how old they are when asking questions, of this nature! Ok, 14 y/o's really are a mixed bag of nuts on sexuality at this age. It is normal for kids 12 to 16 y/o's and other ages, to quiry which way they are heading! All kids, immagine, what sex is like with another, either same or oppisate sex. They all have thoughts, of doing it with either sex. Many kids, first, start playing with their own sex, like jacking off together, or play doctors and nurses, just to see what ever the other has. After awhile, they either realise, they like playing with their own kind or want the other sex, or can and want both! There is no shame in anyway whichever way he goes. The only problem is, if he is gay at his age, and is trying to find a mate whom is either gay or bi-sexual to play with. Kids can be cruel and if he perseves a gay or bi, he may have many problems, if that person is not what he imagined.

Now, ask yourself the same questions about men. If you are only attracted to men and not women, you are straight. If you are only attracted to women and not men, you are a lesbian. If you are attracted to both equally, you are bisexual. If you fall inbetween bisexual and one of the other two extremes, you can pick whichever label you are more comfortable with.

i belive that being gay is so much more than anything sexual. that is only a small part of it. you yourself are diffrent on the inside. never feeling quite "NORMAL". hence the word queer. i've always known i was gay even in very early childhood. i played with trucks and g.i. joes not barbies and babies.

I can be confusing when you're a younger, like when I was a teenager going through puberty and not really knowing what "gay" was (not something that was discussed much in the 70s). But by my first semester of college, it finally clicked. And it's fairly simple. If you're attracted only to the opposite sex, you're straight. If you're attracted only to the same sex, you're gay. If you're attracted to both, then you're bisexual.
