I think you have to have self-worth in order to have compassion for others, but their both equally as important to me.

I also beleive that one must come in order to have the other. Self worth is your most important one, and the rest will follow. Compassion is a result of you appreciating yourself as well as the world around you and caring enough to help.
-
I agree, you keen to know who you are before you can help others however, often I find that helping others is what helped ME to FIND OUT MY WORTH. They go hand in hand and are both equally imporntant !

You have to have a balance of compassion for others and self in order to really lead a fully productive, ethical life. It is not good to be evil to to oneself.
-
To be able to give others, you have to recieve it yourself first. Self-worth and self-respect earns worth and respect for all. Everybody is somebody. Only if we have found somebody in ourselves that we can see everybody. Find yourself first, compassion will be part of you.
-
I think a person must have self worth in order to fee compassion for anyone else. Self worth makes us feel important, worthy and high self esteem. Compassion, like self worth comes from within

I believe self-worth is maybe a little more important. You can't really love others without loving yourself; hence the Bible verses: "love thy neighbor as thy self", and, "do unto others as you would done unto you".
-
Compassion for others, because it implies that you already have self worth in its truest sense, and have made the next step toward caring for and loving others. Two for the price of one! If you choose self worth first, maybe you haven't made that next step yet, and are still self absorbed.
-
Only the compassionate are worth a hoot.
-
If you do not have self-worth, chances are you won't be likely to have compassion or be able to give much to others. At least not in very great amounts.
