My daughter is almost one and already she bites her nails. she has 5 teeth. is her bitting her nails a sign of nervousness.

My son is 7 and also started biting his nails at an early age but grew out of it quickly.I suggest talking to your pediatrician and asking them for advice,mine told me not to worry and if he kept it up there were thing we could do but it never got that far.

this could be her imitating someone she has seen bitting their nails, i wouldn't worry too much as long as she is not bitting them too short that its making her fingers sore or bleed. If you are concerned you could buy something which makes the nails tast horrible or sour and you just put it on and when she bites her nails she will get a horrible taste and it will teach her that she doesn't want to do it anymore.

she is probably teething when you see her start bitting give her a teething toy
