I don't think a lady CAN be picked up in a bar. Women that can be picked up in bars probably don't qualify as ladies. I'd suggest booze or cash.

Anglelness, she wrote that a lady cannot be picked up in a bar, implying both that a lady can be "picked up" (whatever definition you choose for that, yours is not what I was thinking), and that a lady would not be in one. There is only one conclusion remaining. Your "Amen" was the real trigger, I fail to see the humor in that. GTK, you are correct, offense is not the appropriate term, annoy fits better. It is not your answer but the lack of the community over the last 6 hours to give anything more helpful. Your answer is, it would seem, the only reasonable view. My very best friend is in a wheelchair and going through a divorce. He grew up a physically strong footloose person, now he's a 36 year old in a wheelchair with a thirteen year old daughter to care for. I was hoping for some conversation here that might lighten his spirits a bit. Instead I got a (though jovial) personal attack and six nonsense responses. Quite the failure, no?

Actually my uncle is in a wheelchair. She sat on his lap and they have been married now for 12 years

Just like a man who's not in a wheel chair. Hopefully one of them will be intelligent and sweet, why should it matter how he gets around. Believe me, it doesn't, but maybe it shouldn't to him either. Can't notice something that your not botherd by, that goes both ways.
