Disagree. A few people do give points to nonsense answers, but I think majority of the users here still appreciate good questions and answers, and would only give points to good questions and answers.

Not for anything. Maybe they won't really think before they give them, but they don't just throw them around.

You mean blind positrolling? Some might do it at times, but it is bad practice. However, most of the people who get those points don't complain about it (as long as they are positive....

a lot of people do, but not always, I for one know that if I give points for a answer that is questionable than it is my fault for not doing the research. If I see these I will either not look at what other people have suggested and or I will look up th answer my self and get an honest objective point of view, so as not to enable a incorrect response

It is a funny thing to me that not so long ago the frequently asked question was completely opposite to this. Many people complained about other people not giving (enough) points or being stingy. To answer your question, yes we all must admit that much more of the current active ABers are more generous when awarding points. That shouldnt imply that ANYTHING gets or deserves points, just that the average points received in general (specially for questions) has gone up considerably.
