I beleive it exists. Which is to say, I beleive in Christians, (I talk to them every day, if I did'nt beleive in them I'd be just as delusional as them.) but all that Jesus dieing on the cross stuff? Not a word of it.

No I don't believe that mythology. And I don't appreciate being told I'm in for eternal torture and damnation for not accepting it either! The Christian belief is riddled with contradiction and no more plausible than any other mystic belief, yet the believers are some of the most smug, self righteous, pig headed, dogmatic and judgmental people on the face of the planet, wanting so desperately for their particular fantasy to be true that they are prepared to attack anyone who threatens to pop the bubble of self delusion.

Personally, I do not believe in Christian belief which is made by Christians. I do believe in Christ belief. Christian belief is a vague term. Every denomination has its own Christian belief. Christian doctrines or beliefs have some good points but they are not necessary for salvation. Sometimes they are obstacles for knowing the truth. In Dutch there is slogan: because there are many trees I cannot see the jungle… because of Christian belief/beliefs, we mist the true Christ.

I believe some of the things that Christians believe, like in treating other people well, not stealing or killing, that kind of thing. And I believe that much of the historical stuff in the Bible probably has some basis in reality - there was probably a man called Jesus, who had some interesting radical ideas in the humanitarian kind of area. (Although I don't think he was the son of God) I do think that the Bible was written a very long time ago in a very different world, and to take it too literally or too unbendingly would be a mistake. Like many books it teaches some valuable lessons, but we have to filter those through our own experience and reasoning before they can be of any use to us. I don't subscribe to the blind following of any dogma. (Nothing, not even the threat of Hell, could persuade me to subscribe to what the Bible says about homosexuality)

Yes I do. I think it is a shame that so many people get the impression that christians are bigotted, intolerant, pigheaded, and judgemental, especially when real christians have nothing to do with that kind of attitude. For those of you who get that impression from other christians don't hold it against ALL of them, because it simply isn't the way a christian is supposed to act! As always I have never tried Forcing my beliefs on anyone..that should never happen. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; Romans 1:16
