  • It's because of the ipod advertising campaign. They got in there first, cornered the market and spent a lot on ads. It’s not so much that everyone loves ipods, but when most people think of Mp3 players, people think of ipods. It’s like how when people think of cola they think of coke
  • Well first I agree with Mediocritycomplex, alot of adrvetising has gone into putting the ipod into the publics eye. Mp3 is a sound file extension that can be compressed up to (but not always) 1000x it's orginal size, this offers mp3 users the advantage of saving space. I've got some 400+ Albums on my ipod that can be taken just about anywhere by simply slipping it into my pocket, it's great! Imagine having to flip through that many CD's at the gym during a workout to pop one into your Discman.
  • I've tried a lot of mp3 players and I personally think they look the best and are the easiest to use. Of course they are expensive and the next time I buy one I may buy something different.
  • Because it is a good, reliable product from an already reliable company which allows you to enjoy your favorite songs while doing things like...homework, running, or even just walking to class.
  • They're so small, you can blast music in your ears and no one will even know it...let alone yell at you for it. :]
  • I love my mini ipod because it was a gift. I said "oh that is cool", when someone showed me hers. Next thing I know one arrived for me via Ebay auction. Seldom do I put the earbuds in. My main way of enjoying is by putting the power adaptor in it and the FM transmitter and playing it over the speakers in my car. So compact and I don't have to mess around with discs.
  • People love novelty. The ipod is very small and easy to pop in your pocket. I don't see how anyone would be able to use all that memory space for songs though. It seems a bit over the top. I'm gonna wait until something better comes along. They look like glorified Tic-Tac dispensers to me.
  • It looks cool and it works very well. No hassle, no fuss.
  • I bought a 30gig video iPod, and while I've only used about 3gig, I love it! Here's some reasons: 1) Small and MUCH better than lugging around CD's on long trips, etc. 2) can bring it to the gym to workout - SMALL 3) Easy to throw into my purse and pack around 4) Can store pictures to show people when I visit. 5) Easy iTunes software to download 6) It's just overall pretty impressive. The only thing I DON'T like is the battery life and the fact that you have to send it in to Apple in order to get a new battery..and that's spendy! Kind of ridiculous, if you ask me. Anyway, that's my thoughts!
  • I am one of those people who sticks CDs in the wrong cases, loses stuff under my car seats, and scratches every one of my CDs. So the iPod is great because I don't have to worry about destroying/losing all of my music. I always know where it is.
  • becauase u can download like 1000 of ur favorite songs insead of carrying a heave cd player and a bunch of cds and they are fun! and easier to hold
  • I have an iPod nano, and its the best thing I could have gotten for music. You can store all of your music that you have(I think mine holds 1000 or 5000 songs), you can order your songs from iTunes or upload music from your CD's to your computer. Instead of having to switch from CD to CD to listen to different songs, you can just press the button on the iPod and your artists, songs and albums are categorized easily, and it takes 2 second to get a song you like. Its 3x as fast as using a CD player. You can store podcasts(talk radio for ipods) on it, photos, storybooks, its amazing. The size is convnient, but its so small you can lose it easily. The only thing is the battery. It says that it runs on 4 hours of battery, but mind runs out so quickly...
  • I like mine because my first two were free (I won them), and they are very easy to work with. My whole family has them, so we can all share the same music or have our own through iTunes. They are popular, so there are a lot of accessories designed for them (armbands, FM transmitters, clock radios, etc.). I find them very convenient to use while exercising, and they hold many more songs than my previous mP3 players.
  • In 2006 there was not enough money in the budget to hire a DJ or band for our annual Christmas party. So people were asked to bring in their favorite CD's, now think about that confusion. Who would be responsible for the CD's, only 1 song on the CD that people want to hear (#12), and the task of taking one CD out and putting another in, and looking for the correct track for each CD (slow going). This would have been not only time consuming and tedious but people would have gotten tired of waiting for the next song. So when I heard this plan for the party music I put together some music for the party using my IPod. I had several playlist of music for a diverse group of people. Christmas music for dinner, old Christmas favorites, and then all the top party, dance, and line dance tunes from the 60's up to the top 20 on the music charts. It was some work on my part to put this together but it made the party music flow smooth, easy, and the dancing never stopped. Plus hardly anyone bought in CD's. I stuck the IPod on a Bose docking station used the remote to change playlist, track selection was quick and easy, and the party was on. No muss no fuss. I wasn't trying to advertise the IPod as something everyone should purchase but none the less it sold itself. Several people went out and bought an IPod. I also enjoy audiobooks and have appoximately 35 books on it at any given time. My own personal library I can scroll through and determine what genre I want to listen to from Mystery to Fantasy. I LOVE IT.
  • People love having small, electronic things that break easily when dropped.
  • They are ok but i would not say i love it, i guess i'm becoming conditioned to technology.
