  • Even if you take birth control 100% correctly, it still isn't 100% effective. Granted, the figure could be as high as 98-99.9%, but understand that still means you could get pregnant the first time. It would theoretically be possible to get pregnant the first time on BC that was 99.9999% effective. You're still taking a chance. I would still use a condom or at least withdrawal method.
  • the pill releases hormones as to trick your body into thinking that it is already pregnant. as long as you take the pill regulary day to day you should not have a problem. However the pill is not 100% effective. Do add to you peace of mind by using a condom (especially if you are with multiple parters)
