He had a good sitting and left a legacy that will last longer than most people will ever live. I feel bad for his friends and family, the same as I would for anyone who has lost someone. But he was nothing to me so I will not mourn.

I was very sad when I heard. I love Pink Floyd!

Floyd has been my most favorite band since I was a teenager and Rick Wright was my second most favorite member. He always seemed to be a quite, thoughtful, and gentle man, with incredible talent. He made great contributions to the music world and that part of him will be with us always. May he rest in peace.

I hope I don't get cancer. Seriously Floyd is awesome was lucky enough to see them live, great show.

Sad to hear that. Richard Wright was a BIG part and very much responsible for the trademark "Pink Floyd" sound. Much of the focus always went to R. Waters and D. Gilmour, but he added the background on which those two layed their work and was very creative in the use of effects, for example and highly profficient. He'll be missed, may he rest in peace.

That is sooo sad! My daughter is going to be crushed. Thank you singwell.

Is this true? Damn. I loved Rick Wright... I would like to pay tribute by posting one of my favorite Floyd songs, credited exclusively to Mr. Wright, may he rest in peace. Here is "Summer '68":

Pink Floyd was one of the few things that my daghter's mother and I had in common. We both loved that band. I'm not sure how she feels about them now, but I still love that band!
-
best band ever, saw them in Kansas City, best concert I've ever been to

Sad. Truly sad. No huge PF fan am I, but still no one can deny the huge contribution they made to the music field. Revolutionary! Sorry for his family that they lost a loved one to the dreaded cancer.
-
I was saddened to hear the news the other day.I loved his keyboard playing......Hope he's up there with his mates having a great gig in the sky.
-
'See Emily Play' was the most surreal keyboard pieces I have heard.

Sad news for Floyd fans everywhere. It's probably the end of the line for the band. I always hoped that Roger Waters and the band would get back together and put out some new stuff. Now that Wright has passed away it doesn't matter. :( I think I'll listen to Dark Side of the Moon in tribute.

the death of a legend :( he will not be forgotten :)

My first thought was that he's headed for the "Great Gig In The Sky" (he wrote that one), not that I believe in heaven or the afterlife. He WILL live on, however, through his music. I'm thankful that I had the chance to see him play live with The Floyd three times.
