In the 80's it was offensive; but really, how many people who use it insultingly are just jealous that the "nerd" is probably more intelligent than they are.... Does it worry you if a 3yr-old calls you a 'poo-bum' etc??

Nah. But its definition is pretty vague so that sucks. But hey have a listen to white and nerdy by wierd Al Yankovic. classic song. by the way a nerd knows everything, a geek thinks they know everything.

Sticks and Stones Words hurt when they hit a sensitive spot in our psyche. Embrace your "inner nerd" and love it. I hope this is the most obnoxious word you ever hear. It is rather tame, except to you.

The only word i hate is the word hate! is that a paradox? Nerd is a great word, computers have made the common nerd to be respected. I refer to myself as a hybrid-nerd. Since I use to paly rugby/football/ and wrestled. But im into the nerdy stuff, like video games like WoW , etc.
