Just today...I saved a fingertipless officer from inflicting himself with a dangerously deep wound.

I've never had the opportunity, but I sure would as long as it didn't mean certain death for me.

once I helped put an officer in danger...but i got up off him once I realized he went from having fun to suffocating him....

I never had the chance but would in a heartbeat. I have taken care of several when they were in the hospital as patients. (my favorite patients, fun to talk to)

Not nearly so many as have helped me when I was in danger. In fact, only once have I been able to help - I once extricated an officer from a mauled cruiser with my team, backboarded him and got him in an ambulance. *side note* He suffered only bruised legs and a cut over his eye despite the car being so mangled that we had to cut the top completely off. Hooray for seatbelts. I have been made secure by officers in difficult EMS situations countless times. They have always kept me safe. I can assure you that If I happened upon an officer being tag teamed by bad guys - that I'd pile in with him/her. I owe it.
