there has always been music, the sound of a stream, of birds singing, of the ocean crashing or the wind blowing. Then some monkeys figured out how to make some beats and grunts and eventually the monkeys got smarter and made some guitars and when they got even smarter they made electric guitars and then the monkeys went and got dumb again and made little plastic guitars with 5 buttons to play as a game

I liked the answer in a movie 10000BC which starred Ringo Starr and Barbara Bach and he drops something on the leg of the person next to him and he yelps so he does it again and he yelps again and the yelps becomes a song!

Music is God's creation, it wasn't man's original thought! The first human musician is mentioned in Genesis : )
