I guess I am a high rank member but I am totally against down-rating for any reason. I believe if something is too bad it should be flagged and removed. I have 100% ratings given and plan to keep it there. A good thing to do is turn off your rantings in your profile and you will never see a rating good or bad and be able to focus on the good part of the site.

Check my percentages and it's easy to get that answer. I rarely downrate people. I either uprate or ignore. I usually downrate when an incorrect answer rally matters, like the health of a pet. And I say why I do it in a comment and usually they change their answer and then I uprate them instead. I just don't want animals to get hurt by bad advice. But if it's just an opinion, it doesn't matter to me if it's different than mine. There's room for all here. It's what makes this place interesting.

I have never downrated anyone on purpose. Once or twice on accident because I was new and hadn't learned to navigate and once because of a system glitch. But I dont see the point in it... Especially when it is over opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If I dont like what someone has to say, I just disable comments.

I have a high rank on Answerbag, but I don't give downrates for my "trolling pleasure." I don't see the point of trolling people for pleasure, or out of spite. I'd rather walk my dog, than waste my time trolling others here. I have 100% + ratings given, and I would like that to remain as it is.

When I need to get my "trolling pleasure", I hide under bridges, and when people come by I make them pay tolls or hit them with a club. Also, my level is fairly low.

No and nope. I'm just your average girl next door, mid-level ranked user who rarely downrates. I don't get pleasure from downrating. I am, instead, a point fairy who regularly flits around pouring buckets of points on deserving users.

I don't know how top ranking I am. But I positroll. I will answer a question and give everyone who answered before me points if they have a thinking answer or a well thought out opinion. I'll also go back and do this if I make a comment and there is a response to it.

I don't troll downrate but if someone gives advice which could be dangerous (such as false medical advice when I have knowledge to the contrary) or is simply abusive, sexist or racist I will do it. -
