I cannot answer for any other mother, but I can assure you that as a mother myself, I want the best for my children, and yes, my grandchildren, and I will continue to my dying day to do everything I can to see that they get it.

Some mothers just don't know when to let go.

There is no right way to be a mother. My 4 kids are between 21-31 and come to me when they want to talk about anything. They know I do not judge or tell them what to do but will give them my thoughts WHEN ASKED. Sometimes they just need to vent or be reminded unconditional love is real. I gave them a strong foundation from which to build their OWN lives on. I never had a plan on what to be or what to do with their lives, only that I hope they have more happiness then anything. They also have each other for this same love and support that when I leave this Earth, they will not feel alone.

Basically insecurity. They feel like if they let go, they might not be loved or needed any more. They need to have boundaries put up kindly for their own good and for the good of their children.
