Yes I have, and no I don't. My favorites are the questions of religion: if a non-Christian answers a Chrisitian question, or if a non-Jew answers a Jewish question, people flip out. It's a bit funny.

Yes I'v e been down rated and boo'd at...I choose to ignore them..It's there opinion and I have mine..As for the points I could care less I'm not here for them..;)

Its best to just walk away from lowering yourself down to that level. That is exactly what I do.

I figure if they don't give reason for the downrate they're just irate people with differing opinions exploiting their 'anonymous'. Even if it gets me some sort of retaliation, I will always tell why I gave a downrate if I give one.

I live for the first one, and never have done the second. I will answer, knowing full well a litany of -4s are coming. Don't ask if you can't take the answers.

Not only have I been down rated for offering a different view point or opinion, the troll will go and find other responses that I have made and down rate me there also. I don't know who they are or what their issues are but I have learned to ignore them. I don't down rate people if they differ from me on a point of view, but I have down rated as needed if the reply is not on subject. For the most part I will only give positive points.

The only thing I've been down rated for a difference of opinion. I don't down rate if I disagree with someone, however if I find there answer truly "not helpful" I will down rate. More often than not though I only give points. Thanks for the question!

Yes, I have, but I cant prove the asker did it, it was just pretty obvious, that everyone tha thought like him got points, the ones that didnt all were DRed. No, I do not, I only DR if people are rude and obnoxious.

Shoot....it doesn't even need to take that to get down rated . People will down rate if you say the sky is blue or you like hot chocolate. But I have been marked down for voicing my opinion about God. I do not down rate...I flag.

I don't know. They never tell me. I would not downrate someone because of a divergant opions. The sharing of differing views is what we are here for.

I have never been down rated by an asker. I am constantly down rated by other users who do not wish us to have our own opinions, we are supposed to be like zombies. I do not down rate others for their opinions, they have a right to it and to answer which ever way they think convenient. If the answer is absolutely insulting and rude I will down rate but I will leave a comment to state my reason and so they know who down rated them. It has only happened a couple of times since I have been here.

Down rated? I don't know, I am too busy collecting my first 100 points. I never down rate. I always appreciate the opposite opinion from mine and give my points. Why do I ask? I want different opinions.

I sometimes downrate people because I don't share their opinion. It's not like it matters. Actually, if it did matter, I would do it a lot more. If I was guaranteed that every time I downrate a question or answer, someone would cry, I would just do that all day and never answer questions.

EVER? In three-and-a half-years, I have been downrated, impersonated, bitched out, attacked in writing, and trolled unmercifully, LOL. Do I downrate opinions that aren't in line with mine? Depends on how those opinions are stated. For the most part, no. Basically, I'm past caring. If it's bad enough, I'll flag. The people to watch out for are those who state, "I don't downrate much" but whose " + ratings given" percentage is under 85. And anyone whose percentage is under 70%, including users with "0% + ratings given". The latter group either doesn't rate, period, or downrates only.

I have been downrated just because someone else was having a bad day. Only way to explain how completely inocuous, innocent answers get negged. I am not usually highly opinionated and controversial, but I am also not someone who consistently scores on the Leaderboard for Top Q+A. Why? Because the button is there to press. I don't press it. If I disagree, I move on. If it's nonsense, spam/offensive... well... that has it's own button.

I see no point in having the downrate system it can only lead to missuse. Has as been said before we all have different views and we have to tolerate these.

I think I have for sure. Some people who think my views/actions (mainly in sexuality) are wrong/weird/freaky/sick, etc. Screw them lol. And I don't DR because something is not the same as my view, I only DR usually if the statement is ignorant or criticizing.
